Hiruzen secured Kirigakure, defeated the forces of Kumogakure and Iwagakure, and brought Hashirama back to lead peace negotiations. As Madara and Isshiki advanced their plans, Obito returned to Konoha and reunited with Hiruzen.

• Hiruzen defeated the Third Mizukage, captured the Three-Tails and Six-Tails, and began rebuilding the Land of Water with Kimimaro and Konoha’s support.
• Tobirama’s forces repelled attacks from Kumogakure, while Hanzo and Sakumo defeated the Third Kazekage and Nagato sealed Shukaku within himself.
• Gengetsu challenged Hiruzen for the title of Mizukage, but Hiruzen defeated and sealed him before taking charge of Kirigakure.
• Madara recruited Obito and trained him as Konoha fought on multiple fronts, while Isshiki secretly planted Karma in Madara.
• Ashina Uzumaki trapped Tobirama, Danzo, and their squad, prompting Hiruzen to launch a devastating assault against Iwagakure and Kumogakure.
• Hiruzen defeated Ōnoki and the Third Raikage, but Madara arrived with the Six Kage and demanded control of Iwagakure and Kumogakure.
• Hiruzen summoned Hashirama, who later led negotiations with the enemy villages, while the Sage of Six Paths strengthened him and Obito returned to Konoha through Kamui.

Hiruzen Sarutobi guided Konoha through revelations from an alternate world, preparations against Madara and the Ōtsutsuki, and efforts to change the fates of visitors from that world. The arc ended with Hiruzen defeating Urashiki’s attacks in a spar and welcoming him to Konoha.

• Hiruzen made Obito his secret Kage Guard, then welcomed the alternate-universe delegation and heard how their world’s conflicts had unfolded.
• Tobirama and Fugaku confronted the alternate Itachi, and Sasuke killed him before Tobirama revived him for Sasuke to receive his eyes.
• Tobirama and Obito gathered reincarnated fighters and intervened in the alternate world, where Obito persuaded his counterpart to abandon his plan and atone.
• Alternate Universe Tobirama exposed and killed Danzo, while the group prepared to confront Madara and changed the alternate Obito’s Sharingan and fate.
• Hiruzen disciplined Fugaku and Obito for their actions, then learned that a visitor from the moon had come seeking refuge.
• Urashiki disguised himself as Apo and challenged Hiruzen, who analyzed and defeated his Treasured Tools and attacks before welcoming him to Konoha.

Konoha and its allies fought Madara and the Otsutsuki forces, while Hiruzen prepared to confront their strongest enemy. After Danzo sacrificed himself to cripple Zoshiki, Hiruzen drew on the Shinobi World’s strength to defeat Hoshiki and end the war.

• Hiruzen welcomed Urashiki into Konoha, while Izuna crossed into the alternate universe to help Tobirama confront Madara and push its villages toward reform.
• Madara returned to the alternate Shinobi World, fought the Five Kage and their allies, and then revived half of those killed in the Uchiha downfall and Nine-Tails Incident before returning to the Pure Land.
• Momoshiki, Kinshiki, and Isshiki launched a surprise assault on Konoha, and Orochimaru deployed the village’s forces against them and the White Zetsu army.
• Konoha’s fighters defeated or sealed former Kage and Otsutsuki forces across several fronts, while Obito drove Kinshiki away and Nagato trapped Ashina Uzumaki.
• Hashirama, Tobirama, Izuna, and their allies freed Madara from Isshiki’s control, and Hashirama and Madara joined their power to erase Isshiki’s consciousness.
• Tobirama trapped and sealed Momoshiki, but Zoshiki appeared and killed Danzo, who sacrificed himself in a Natural Energy explosion that left Zoshiki near death.
• Hoshiki absorbed Zoshiki’s remaining power, and Hiruzen confronted him with the Sun Stance as Kaguya rallied the Shinobi World to send Hiruzen their Chakra and Natural Energy.
• Hiruzen used the complete Will of Fire Technique to defeat and absorb Hoshiki, then returned to the people as Tobirama and Orochimaru announced the war’s end.
