Arc 5Aosui and the Uchiha

Senju Tobirama, living as Uchiha Aosui, joined the Uchiha and worked to reconcile the clan with Konoha while earning influence through his skill and counsel. As Hiruzen Sarutobi built ties with Kirigakure and demonstrated new Kekkei Genkai, Danzo began considering Aosui as a recruit, unaware that Tobirama had his own plans for him.

  • Uzumaki Shio asked Fugaku and Isshin to protect the orphan, and Isshin led the Three-Tomoe users to retrieve him after learning Danzo seemed hostile.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi arranged for Shisui to live with Senju Tobirama, who named him Uchiha Aosui and became his older brother, with Isshin appointed as their guardian.

  • Senju Tobirama rallied the Uchiha and Konoha students against Danzo, while Uchiha Isshin entrusted Tobirama with his Mangekyō power and leadership of the clan.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi recognized Root’s members, provided for them, and had Mito Uzumaki remove their Cursed Tongue Eradication Seals as they swore loyalty to him.

Hiruzen strengthened Konoha through reforms, new allies, and diplomatic agreements while Madara worked to destabilize the region. The arc left Hanzo seeking Akatsuki’s help, Kirigakure’s young shinobi plotting change, and Tobirama and Shio estranged after Tomie’s treatment.

  • Hiruzen challenged the old Ninja Code, established the Konoha Mutual Aid Fund, and urged Madara to address grievances through discussion, while Madara ordered White Zetsu to gather intelligence on Sky Hidden Village.

Arc 8The Road to War

Hiruzen Sarutobi strengthened Konoha and its alliances while Uchiha Madara tested the village and the Hidden Villages moved toward war. The arc ended with Hiruzen devastating Kirigakure’s vanguard and the Third Mizukage learning that most of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had been killed.

  • Uchiha Madara attacked Hanzo, Nagato, and Yahiko, but Hiruzen Sarutobi confronted him and arranged closer cooperation between Konoha and Amegakure.
