Lin's Atonement

Uchiha Itachi wanted to atone for himself, so what was the atonement Lin sought? She wanted to atone for him, Uchiha Obito.

Uchiha Obito had killed the Fourth Hokage and his wife, caused the Nine-Tails' attack, and followed Uchiha Itachi in destroying the Uchiha Clan. Those were his sins.

Obito's voice suddenly began to tremble, and even the way he looked at Lin became somewhat fearful.

"Lin..."

"Shut up, idiot!"

Lin knew what Obito wanted to say and cut him off directly. After she spoke, Obito's expression suddenly turned awful.

Lin had interrupted him. To him, that completely confirmed his suspicions—Lin probably really intended to atone in his place.

He was filled with rage, yet he did not dare vent it on Lin.

It was all the world's fault. Minato, Kakashi, Konoha, and the clan were the ones at fault.

Perhaps he had been at fault too, but Lin was absolutely blameless. Lin did not need to atone for him, and he had no sins to atone for in the first place.

Perhaps it was because half his brain had been smashed to pulp, or perhaps because Uchiha Madara had no personal charisma whatsoever, but he had truly changed somewhat.

Only then did Obito realize that, at some unknown point, the scenery around him had changed. This was no longer a graveyard, but a familiar yet somewhat strange place.

Chains rattled, yet did not move an inch. Within Tsukuyomi's space, everything here was controlled by Uchiha Itachi. If he did not want anything here to change, then nothing could change.

After accepting Uchiha Madara's teachings, Obito had almost completely changed personalities. He had gone from a fine young man of Konoha, a supporter of Konoha's White Fang who cherished his teammates and worked hard to become Hokage, into someone consumed
