Lin's tone left no room for argument. She walked toward the villa's front door, with the three men following behind her.

She lived at the edge of the Uchiha Clan's grounds, where traces of the old landscape remained. Beyond the sparse wire fence lay the forest surrounding Konoha.

"There's a small laboratory nearby. Yamanaka Feng, you should remember it." Lin stepped through the grass, and after only a few paces, they saw lights again.

Yamanaka Feng nodded. Root's bases and laboratories varied in size and were scattered throughout the village. The only area without one nearby was the Hyuga Clan's grounds.

This place was another laboratory, built after the Uchiha Clan had moved to the edge of the village. Its purpose was simple: to monitor the clan while researching the Sharingan.

But the laboratory had changed completely. Not a single person remained inside. Almost everything had been replaced by machines, ones capable of moving on their own.

As ninja, they could feel that the path sloped downward. It led not just forward, but deeper underground.

They passed several rooms and reached the end of the corridor. Lin stopped and pressed a hand lightly against the wall. Light shimmered through it from the other side, where another space lay hidden: a larger room.

There were all kinds of animals and plants, along with creatures that drew the eye. Quite a few Summoning Beasts, normally a rare sight, were here. When they saw Lin arrive, they raised a clamor.
