"Whew, whew..."
Yuzuru stood on the surface of the water, bracing his hands on his knees as he panted, slightly out of breath.
As the saying went, hard work could make up for a lack of talent. Though he learned Fire Release far more slowly than Wind Release, after days of frequent, relentless practice, he could just about use B-rank combat ninjutsu.
After all that practice, he could understand why some ninja found learning ninjutsu so difficult. A person's comprehension and learning ability were part of it, but the other reason was simpler... Learning ninjutsu meant wasting chakra.
Learning quickly required enough chakra to support it.
"Fire Release really is an excellent ninjutsu for dealing damage over a wide area. As for its drawback... when it hits, it hits hard. The problem is, it's easy to miss."
After practicing so much, Yuzuru had also discovered Fire Release's strengths and weaknesses. There was no doubt about its destructive power; the problem was its accuracy.
Most Fire Release techniques didn't have fast enough "projectile speeds," so it was difficult for them to kill in one blow.
Fire Release really did rely on wide-area damage. Compared to small-scale duels, the larger the battle, the more effective Fire Release became.
As for his chakra, after repeatedly using it up and recovering over the past few days, Yuzuru felt that his reserves had reached the upper limit of what was normal for a ninja. He could easily get through an entire battle without running out.
It seemed completing the "Beginner's Quest" really had been worthwhile. The quest itself was absurd, but luckily, the way Yuzuru completed it was just as absurd.
"There's only so much time to practice on the front lines. After that, I'll probably have to rely on actual combat..."
After finishing his
