Swan Lake seemed to tremble in resonance with her restless emotions.

In the midst of battle, her drowsy eyes gleamed with an inscrutable light. She was full of spirit now, no longer as listless as before.

She leaped. She slashed.

Like an elf nimbly weaving through a bed of flowers.

Honkai Beast corpses littered the ground. There were no zombies, nor was there any spurting blood.

Rosaliya's singing continued.

The last knight Honkai Beast fell with a howl. Its scream cut off abruptly. Liliya rose, panting, and planted Swan Lake into the ground beside her.

The battle was over.

Liliya heard nothing, because the final Honkai Beast had been drifting forward.

It was like a fluttering butterfly.

Its wheel-like blades were exquisitely beautiful and gorgeously shaped, yet they killed without a trace.

Honkai Emperor.

This was the limit that lesser Honkai Beasts could reach. Beyond this, there was no path forward. Only emperor-level and Judgment-class Honkai Beasts, born at the finish line, possessed absolute authority over lower-ranking Honkai Beasts.

A Honkai Emperor was the emperor among lesser Honkai Beasts.

Zhao Bai lightly applauded from the stage.

It was time.

He rose to his feet, drew a slender ice-blue tachi, and slowly walked to stand in front of Liliya.

"Your swordsmanship is quite good. You should train more after you return."

"Now, let me handle it."

How Bad Was It? (2/4)

Instead of switching fighters—

Wouldn't it be better to let Liliya finish it off in one go...

That was what Liliya thought.

She raised her sword and stepped forward, intending to use an iaido slash. Her slender body bore the sword as she gathered her strength, ready to strike.

The Honkai Emperor's butterfly-like wings fluttered. Pale pink rings spread out from its center, formed by a stream of flying blades.
