Background / History
Tang San is a reborn former Tang Sect member who retained knowledge of the sect's cultivation arts, movement techniques, poisons, and hidden weapons. At Holy Spirit Village's awakening ceremony, he revealed Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power while keeping his Clear Sky Hammer hidden. His unusual talent was later disclosed to Tang Hao, who responded with rare affection upon seeing the Twin Martial Souls. 1 2
Lin Qi's simultaneous awakening of Innate Full Soul Power immediately stirred Tang San's hostility. Although Tang Hao told him to maintain a good relationship with Lin Qi, Tang San instead came to view him as a rival and repeatedly sought opportunities to surpass him. 3 5 9
At Nuoding Academy, Tang San became Yu Xiaogang's disciple. Yu helped him acquire a Mandala Snake Soul Ring and advised him to cultivate Blue Silver Grass first, despite Tang San's wish to develop both Martial Souls at once. 7 10 16 23
His first public duel with Lin Qi ended in a decisive defeat: Blue Silver Bind was torn apart, and Tang San's Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track Steps and Mysterious Jade Hand failed to land a hit. The loss drove him to place greater emphasis on hidden weapons. 20 23
Tang San later joined Shrek Academy, cultivated under growing pressure from Lin Qi and Xiao Wu's advancement, and sought power through Spirit Bones and the support of Dugu Bo, Tang Hao, and the Clear Sky Sect. The sect recognized his Twin Martial Souls as potential hope for its revival and escorted him to acquire his third Soul Ring in Sunset Forest. 77 79 81 83 133 134
In Sunset Forest, his challenge to Lin Qi again failed. The King of Hell's Post was magnetically redirected into him, leaving him critically poisoned and eventually causing his right hand to become a Black Poison Hand. Tang Hao's rebuke restored his determination after Tang San fell into despair. 137 138 143 144
Tang San later escaped Slaughter City with Tang Chen, reunited with Yu Xiaogang, and received the Heart of the Sea God. After returning from Sea God Island five years later, he had reached rank 99 and divine power, eventually becoming the Sea God before obtaining the Asura God's power in his final confrontation with Lin Qi. 178 240 244
Appearance
The Clear Sky Sect elders consider Tang San's appearance ordinary and notably unlike the elegance they remembered in Ah Yin. His eyes can redden when his resentment toward Lin Qi surges. 133 241
- Carries spider-like shoulder claws after absorbing the Underground Demon Spider's External Soul Bone. 134 135
- His right hand became blackened and poisonous after he was struck by the King of Hell's Post. 143
- Developed an intense murderous aura during his time in Slaughter City. 178
Personality
Tang San is proud, competitive, and intensely unwilling to accept inferiority to Lin Qi. Repeated defeats do not end his ambition; instead, they drive him toward more training, stronger hidden weapons, Spirit Bones, and powerful backers. 14 23 80 144
His confidence frequently collapses into resentment when plans fail. He struggles to accept responsibility for defeats, often attributing Lin Qi's superiority to external advantages such as Master Meng, superior Soul Rings, or Lin Qi's background. 20 133 143
Despite this fixation, Tang San is devoted to his father and teacher. He remains concerned for Tang Hao's safety, recognizes Yu Xiaogang even after the latter's deterioration, and reacts emotionally to their reunions. 143 144 178

Divine Power
Tang San's rank 99 Soul Power was transformed into divine power after his Sea God Island training.
