The gunmen had just raised their weapons to shoot Lan Mu when a Chain Shot came hurtling toward them.
Lan Mu ran sideways at incredible speed, making his position difficult to lock onto.
Drawing, aiming, and firing flowed together in one seamless motion as he fired while moving at a rate of five arrows per second.
Every arrow killed a man. The gunmen fell with their heads blown apart as if they were wooden stakes.
Within a dozen meters, Lan Mu's bow was more threatening than any firearm. Many gunmen were shot dead before they could fire a single bullet.
After taking out the last gunman, Fang Moqi came over carrying Nedley. Both of them were bloodied and battered.
"Why did you get out of the car? Paul's already gotten far away! Keep chasing him!" Lan Mu shouted as he rushed over.
During that delay, Paul's car had sped away at full throttle again, and it was already out of sight.
Fang Moqi gave a bitter smile. "Our car's wrecked. We can't catch up anymore."
Despite saying that, he did not give up. He put Nedley into the enemy's car instead.
The three of them continued the pursuit in the Ford, which was still more or less functional.
It had to be said, the enemy's car was simply better than theirs. After chasing for over ten minutes, they were nearing Los Angeles and could see the vast cluster of towering buildings ahead.
Lan Mu leaned out of the car, and his gaze finally locked onto Paul's vehicle.
"Four hundred meters ahead. I see it! He's entered the city!"
"Can you hit him from that distance?" Fang Moqi asked.
Lan Mu climbed out again and crouched on the hood. "I'll give it a try! Give me another dagger!"
