Rumble--
Suddenly, there was a deafening thunder blast high in the sky.
Immediately afterwards, huge raindrops fell from the sky.
Before Gion could react, Morgan, who was standing next to Akira, seemed to know that heavy rain was coming. He opened the black umbrella he had been holding in his hand and held it on Akira's head just as the rain was about to hit Akira.
Seeing Morgan's move, Ryokugyu, who was standing behind Gion, immediately cast a look of admiration at Morgan. He was indeed Marshal's personal guard, and he realized that Morgan deserved to be favored.
Akira didn't have much reaction because of Morgan's move. After putting away the letter and photos in silence, he slightly raised his head and looked at the downpour that formed a huge rain curtain in just ten seconds and enveloped the world. His thoughts inadvertently flew to six years ago.
It was also a day of heavy rain.
Marine Headquarters, recruit dormitory.
"Ahahaha, it's finally time to get paid again!"
A burly young man who looked to be in his twenties rushed into the dormitory in the heavy rain and said excitedly to his two roommates in the dormitory, "Tell me, how much did you receive?"
The muscular man who was already sitting on the bed in the dormitory and started counting money couldn't help but complained, "Are you stupid? Brian, the salary of the internship class is the same!"
Brian raised his leg and kicked the muscular man, "Rogers? You want to fight again, don't you? Since you know that everyone's salary is the same, why do you still count?"
"I like the feeling of counting money, hahaha!" Rogers grinned.
"I like it too~" Brian laughed stupidly, and then looked at the bed by the window, "Akira, don't use this month's salary to help others, keep some for yourself, otherwise you won't have money to marry a wife in the future!"
Akira, who was lying on the bed with pillows and reading a book, tilted his head and said with a serious expression, "Why marry a wife? Before we didn't have strong strength, every time we went out to perform a mission, we were dancing on the edge of a knife. If we were not careful, we would die in the sea. Rather than letting my wife become a widow, it is better to be single."
"That makes sense!" Brian nodded, then laughed again, "However, I joined the navy just to give my wife and children a better future! I won't talk to you anymore, I will send my salary home!"
"Wait!"
Akira spoke up in time to stop Brian, and immediately took out all his salary from under the pillow and simply threw it to Brian, "Send it to my sister-in-law together!"
Brian caught the Beli thrown by Akira, "No, no, no, you gave me your salary last month, I can't take it anymore this time!"
With that said, Brian walked to Akira's bed and put Beli under Akira's pillow again.
"Didn't you say that your wife is about to give birth?" Akira once again put Beli into Brian's hands, "I'm waiting for the baby to be born and call me uncle! Take it, if you refuse, I will be angry!"
"Ah this..." Brian blinked and wanted to refuse, but Akira glared back.
Seeing this, Brian simply accepted Beli, "It's not okay to call him uncle. When the child grows up, let him call you dad too, hahaha! It's great, my son has two dads before he is born!"
"How are you sure he is your son?" Rogers suddenly stood up and said angrily, "Also, why are there just two dads? What about us?"
Before he finished speaking, Rogers also handed the Beli that he had counted in his hand to Brian, "Although we seriously doubt whether you can find a wife, for the sake of everyone being brothers, we will just trust you for now! If I find out in the future that you actually don't have a wife at all, and your wife is not pregnant, I will definitely cut you into pieces!"
Unexpectedly, Rogers also handed over the salary he had just received. Brian's eyes turned red instantly. "Rogers, you--"
Rogers waved his hand very grandly. "Stop talking nonsense and send the money quickly!"
With that said, Rogers pushed Brian out.
"Wait, wait!"
Brian turned around and took a picture of his bed, took down a photo posted on the bedside, and asked Akira who picked up the book again and read with interest, "Little one, do you have a pen?"
"What?" Akira raised his head.
"Don't worry!" Brian walked up to Akira, snatched the pen from Akira's ear, and then wrote quickly on the back of the photo.
"Done!"
After returning the pen to Akira, Brian showed a satisfied smile and said, "Send this photo back first so that the little one can remember you after he is born!"
Before he finished speaking, Brian grabbed the umbrella in the corner and ran out.
"Childish!"
Watching Brian run out of the dormitory, Akira shook his head and smiled, "You still call me a kid?"
"You are just a little kid!"
Rogers took the words and said with a smile, "In our recruit class, you are not only the youngest, but also the last in height. You deserve the nickname "Little One", haha."
Half an hour later.
Brian returned and shouted to Akira and Rogers: "Emergency mission. Hurry, gather in the square!"
"What kind of urgent task is it?" Rogers cursed angrily, "It's a rainy day, can't we be given a break? Is there any justice in giving us such a small salary every month, but making us do the work of licking blood from the edge of a knife?"
"Don't complain!" Brian quickly put on his navy uniform and said solemnly, "I hope I'm just going on patrol!"
Having said this, Brian suddenly turned his head and looked at Akira, who was also changing clothes, "Little one, if you are not patrolling but going to capture pirates, when the battle breaks out, don't rush in front like last time! Remember it!"
"Okay!" Akira nodded and simply said, "Let's go!"
When the three Akira ran out of the dormitory building and arrived at Marineford Square, all the trainee recruits who had arrived before them had already boarded the warship and stood neatly on the deck in the pouring rain, waiting for the three of them to return to their positions.
"Colonel, what kind of mission is this? It's so urgent!"
As soon as he boarded the warship and stood in the queue, Rogers turned to the colonel standing at the front of the queue and asked loudly, "It's raining so hard, can't it be delayed a little longer?"
"You talk a lot of nonsense!"
The colonel glared at Rogers, then swept his eyes across all the soldiers present, and said solemnly, "Cheer up, today is the last patrol of your internship period. This mission will determine whether you will continue to stay in the headquarters or be assigned to the branch! If you want to stay in the headquarters, prove it with your actions!"
After a slight pause, the colonel immediately picked up the Den Den Mushi in his hand and raised his voice. "All the interns are here, let's go."
