The battlefield was like frozen amber. The only things still moving were the clouds of dust rising from the earth.
Ancestor Minghe lay at the bottom of the crater he had made, his body embedded three feet into the rock. He struggled to get up, but the pressure emanating from Chaos, like a Primordial Divine Mountain, weighed so heavily on him that he couldn't even move a finger.
"Taiyuan... are you really going to wipe me out?!"
Minghe roared. Though his voice was weak, it was full of resentment and malice. "I, Ancestor Minghe, am immortal! As long as the Blood Sea remains, I cannot die! If you can't kill me today, one day the Blood Sea will surge skyward, and I'll drown your entire Mount Sumeru!"
In the distance, Kunpeng cowered in a corner. His enormous Demon Master true form had been forced to shrink back into a human shape, and he was trembling. He didn't dare run, because Jieyin and Zhunti stood like two temple guardians, clutching Magic Treasures that looked like trouble and blocking every escape route.
And there was also the "demolition crew" behind them, brought along from Mount Sumeru: Daoist Liuguang and the group of subordinates he had subdued. Their cultivation was nothing special, but the way they eyed him like a fat sheep made Kunpeng's scalp tingle.
"Wipe you out? Daoist Minghe, what are you talking about?"
Taiyuan brushed off some nonexistent dust and strolled to the edge of the crater, looking down at Minghe.
There wasn't a hint of murderous intent in his eyes. He looked as sincere as if he were chatting with an old friend.
"We're civilized people. We don't go around fighting and killing. That slap just now was purely an accident. My hand slipped."
"But..." Taiyuan changed his tune
