Background / History

The Dragon Clan emerged as one of the three most influential bloodline-based powers in the Primordial World, alongside the Phoenix and Qilin Clans. It inhabits the four seas, rivers, and lakes, cultivates the Way of Water, and is charged with summoning clouds, bringing rain, and regulating Water Element forces. Alongside the other two great clans, it clears Fierce Beasts from its territory and protects weaker beings. 35

Its rule is founded on Ancestor Dragon’s authority as the progenitor of all dragons. True Dragon descendants are granted regions to govern after adulthood, while subordinate dragon branches and water races administer and defend the Clan’s vast aquatic holdings. 39

By the Northern Darkness war, the Dragon Clan had fought the Fierce Beasts of the Northern Nether Ice Prison for a thousand years around the Bloody Battle Ice Plain. Coiled Dragon Giant Island served as its forward base on the eastern side of the battlefield. 76 77

The Clan ultimately joined the wider resistance led by the three great clans against the Fierce Beast calamity. In the final East Sea campaign, Ancestor Dragon and Hongjun defeated the forces led by Qiongqi and Taotie, but the victory cost the Dragon Clan much of its elite strength and injured Ancestor Dragon’s origin. 51 237

Territory and Seat of Power

The Dragon Clan’s authority extends over the four seas, rivers, lakes, and other water veins of the Primordial World. These waters recognize the Clan as their master, and its direct descendants are assigned territories throughout this domain. 35 39

Coiled Dragon Giant Island

Coiled Dragon Giant Island is an immense island-continent in the Northern Darkness cold sea and the Clan’s principal base during the Northern Darkness campaign. 77 86

• Its mountains contain Sea Crystal Jade and Ten Thousand Year Ice Marrow. 86

Northern Darkness War

The Dragon Clan’s North Sea territories came under sustained assault from Fierce Beasts originating in the Northern Nether Ice Prison. The resulting thousand-year conflict centered on the Bloody Battle Ice Plain, with Coiled Dragon Giant Island serving as the Dragon Clan’s forward position. 74 76 77

The Clan’s forces fought the Ice Sha Mysterious Tortoise and its army. When the Fierce Beast overlord personally appeared, Ancestor Dragon emerged from Coiled Dragon Giant Island and countered its pressure, allowing the Dragon Clan army to avoid collapse. 85

Following the Ice Sha Mysterious Tortoise’s temporary retreat, General Ao Qing rewarded Lin Yan for his battlefield contributions with cultivation resources, water-element techniques, weapons, armor, and warship models. 86

Allied Campaigns

As the Fierce Beast threat escalated, the Dragon Clan joined the broader alliance proposed by the Qilin Clan, with the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans taking leading roles in the resistance. 51

At Ice Ridge Bay, Dragon Clan commander Ao Qin participated in strategic discussions with Phoenix Clan generals regarding the advance against approaching Fierce Beast armies. 133

East Sea Final Battle

The Dragon Clan’s final reported campaign ended with Ancestor Dragon and Hongjun defeating Qiongqi and Taotie at the shores of the Vast East Sea. The Clan annihilated five Ancient Fierce Beasts, more than a dozen Golden Immortal-level Fierce Beasts, and at least three million ordinary Fierce Beasts. 237

The victory came at enormous cost:
