Background / History

Yu Yuanzhen led the Blue Electric Tyrant Dragon Clan through a prolonged concern over its lack of successors capable of reaching the Titled Douluo realm. As clan leader, he had tried to protect his second son, Yu Xiaogang, when Xiaogang was disowned for failing to awaken the clan’s Blue Electric Tyrant Dragon Martial Soul, but could not overcome the elders’ opposition. 15 36

When Yu Xiaolin and Yu Xiaofeng reported that Yu Xiaogang had awakened the Blue Electric Tyrant Dragon as a second Martial Soul, Yu Yuanzhen reacted with excitement and regret that the awakening had come two decades too late. He nevertheless welcomed the possibility of Xiaogang returning to the clan and took his warning about Martial Soul Hall seriously. 27

Yu Yuanzhen began preparing for a possible assault by identifying suspected infiltrators within the clan and pursuing an alliance among the Upper Three Sects. He later welcomed Yu Xiaogang home after more than twenty years away, supported him through the clan’s reinstatement trials, and personally restored his name to the genealogy when Xiaogang became a clan elder. 27 50 52 56
