Background

Tang Ruowei was the Grand Princess of Shangxuan Kingdom. She initially travelled under the male identity of Tang Wei, concealing her gender while confronting Corpse Demons alongside Bai Qiuran. Sima Yingbo recognized her as a princess, but she refused to return obediently to the palace. 8 10

Her position in the royal family left her vulnerable to political marriage. The Shangxuan Emperor arranged for her to marry Minister Sima, partly because Shangxuan’s royal family placed importance on physical traits and viewed her padded chest as a future obstacle to marriage. Ruowei intended to flee Shangxuan after the Heaven Worship Ceremony rather than accept the arrangement. 14

Tang Zhouxie, her demonic-cultivator ancestor, later captured her as material for a blood sacrifice intended to advance him to the Golden Core Stage. Ruowei remained defiant despite being outnumbered and captured by Qi Refining soldiers. 17

Rather than remain a political asset of Shangxuan, she abandoned palace life and sought admission to the Azure Nether Sword Sect. Her stated goal was to seek an immortal fate for herself and the royal family; she also wished to follow Bai Qiuran, who had saved her, her family, and her country. 22 23

Tang Ruowei is a slender young woman with long black hair and a refined appearance when dressed in feminine clothing. She spent much of her early story disguising herself as a man or using chest padding to match Shangxuan’s standard of voluptuous beauty. 12 14 281
