History
Foundation and Seclusion
Several centuries before the opening events, Li Xin arrived on Douluo Continent and summoned heroes from King's Canyon. Wu Zetian established Great Tang in the continent's center, while other summoned heroes developed institutions and powers under Li Xin's leadership 1.
Great Tang initially occupied a small territory, rarely dealt with outsiders, and avoided continental disputes. Its borders nevertheless carried a reputation as forbidden territory. Twenty years before the ranking's appearance, a Spirit Hall cardinal infiltrated the Imperial Palace; his life token shattered within fifteen minutes, and his body was never recovered 2.
During Li Xin's prolonged seclusion, Wu Zetian followed his instruction to preserve the continental balance rather than intervene freely in outside wars 2 3.
Heavenly Dao Exposure
The Heavenly Dao Golden Ranking brought Great Tang and its associated organizations into public view. At court, Yu Xiaogang sought support for the alliance against the Martial Soul Empire, while Qian Renxue offered to share the continent with Great Tang if it remained neutral. Ning Rongrong subsequently proposed an alliance on behalf of the Tang Sect coalition 2 5.
Li Xin rejected both major camps as unsuitable partners and preferred to let them fight among themselves. Great Tang's empire-wide ranking rewards then widened the military gap so sharply that Bibi Dong suspended operations against its borders and considered a non-aggression agreement 8 16 17.
Continental Intervention
Li Xin eventually abandoned neutrality and resolved to place the entire continent under one authority. After Jing reported atrocities committed by Asura Guard believers supported by the Tang Sect, he ordered Great Tang to assume responsibility for Douluo Continent's defense and eliminate the Tang Sect as the God Realm's foothold in the mortal world 50 54.
The collision with Sun Moon Continent introduced another threat. Haiyue pacified the far west and prevented its fleet from advancing, later returning to Chang'an with surrendering Sun Moon Super Douluos 55 61 92.
As Great Tang's divine army assembled, Li Xin ordered its banners planted across the planet within three days. He refused Qian Renxue's request to accept Spirit Hall and the Tang Sect's surrender at that stage, arguing that their wars had devastated ordinary people 93.
Unification and the Mortal Era
By the consolidation of Li Xin's rule, Douluo Continent, Sun Moon Continent, Star Dou Great Forest, and the Far North had all been incorporated into Great Tang. Li Xin established Jixia Academy, expanded technological development, and created a supervision apparatus to punish corruption 98.
Wu Zetian followed with laws abolishing harsh taxes and collective punishment, nationalizing cultivation resources, and opening education to every citizen. Li Xin then led Great Tang's strongest forces through a spatial formation to challenge the God Realm 99.
Li Xin and his allies destroyed the God Realm, ending divine rule over Douluo Continent. Over the following century, Great Tang integrated Mechanism Arts and Soul Master cultivation into everyday society. Once its institutions were stable, Wu Zetian transferred regency authority to the cabinet, and Li Xin decided to return to King's World 103.
