Background and History

Tang Sect founder

Tang San founded the Tang Sect with the Shrek Seven Devils as its core members, relying primarily on hidden weapons and poison. He expected the sect to claim first place on the Heavenly Dao Power Ranking, but it was announced in seventh place instead. The ranking reward gave every registered member a God-Bestowed Soul Ring and granted Tang San the Divine Machine Hundred Refinements Hidden Weapons forging blueprint. 9

Although furious at the ranking, he accepted the rewards after his first soul ring was remade as a hundred-thousand-year ring. The blueprint gave him designs for hidden weapons that he had previously been unable to conceive or forge. 9

Martial Soul evolution

Tang San was ranked thirteenth on the Martial Soul Ranking as a Level 94 Titled Douluo with Twin Martial Souls: the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer. He considered the ranking an insult to both himself and Yu Xiaogang’s theories on Twin Martial Souls. 31

His ranking reward evolved the Blue Silver Emperor into the Blue Silver Divine Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer into the Clear Sky Divine Hammer. With four God-Bestowed Soul Rings, he advanced into the Peerless Douluo ranks at Levels 95–97. 32

Conflict with Great Tang

Tang San became increasingly alarmed by Great Tang’s ranked figures, Mechanism City, intelligence network, and military mobility. He sought Mozi’s mechanism technology for the Tang Sect, ordered investigations into Yang Guifei, and attempted to identify the weaknesses of Great Tang’s forces. 12 39

After Jing killed an envoy protected by the Asura God, Tang San contacted the Asura God and received an infusion of Asura Divine Power. He later completed the inheritance of the Asura God’s position while retaining the Sea God’s power, then planned to destroy Martial Soul Hall before confronting Great Tang. 43 44 55

Fall from power

The Heavenly Curtain exposed Tang San’s past scheme to drive Xiao Wu into a sacrifice for her hundred-thousand-year soul ring and soul bone. The revelation destroyed his standing with Xiao Wu, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, the Star Dou Great Forest’s hundred-thousand-year soul beasts, and much of the continent. 86 87

Despite receiving the Myriad Poison Origin, Dao-level Eight Spider Lances, and God King Blue Silver Armor, Tang San was overwhelmed by Li Xin’s power. The Asura God severed contact with him rather than challenge Great Tang, and Xiao Wu subsequently defected to Chang’an. 88 90 92

Tang San made a final stand against Great Tang alongside Oscar, but Sikong Zhen defeated them. He then attempted to confront Li Xin directly and was instantly killed by a single sword strike. 95

Appearance

Tang San is depicted with long blue hair that later becomes tinged with blood-red as the Asura Divine Power stirs within him. His appearance changes dramatically as he acquires increasingly destructive divine equipment. 76 88 90

  • Long blue hair, later marked by a faint blood-red tint. 76
  • Blood-red eyes when affected by Asura Divine Power. 44 79
  • A dark-red Clear Sky Hammer bearing demonic killing-intent patterns after receiving Asura power. 44
  • Eight enlarged, barbed spider lances covered in Dao-mark patterns after receiving the Myriad Poison Origin. 88
  • Blue-gold God King Blue Silver Armor with dragon-shaped pauldrons and a Chaos Orb set in its chest. 90

Personality

Tang San is intensely proud of his Twin Martial Souls, hidden weapons, divine inheritances, and position as Tang Sect leader. Rankings below his expectations provoke anger, denial, and resentment toward those placed above him. 9 31 47

He can be calculating and cautious when facing unknown threats. He ordered Titan to investigate Yang Guifei’s habits and weaknesses, and later abandoned an immediate attack on Martial Soul City because Li Xin’s true power remained uncertain. 39 90

His pursuit of power increasingly overrides his attachments and public image. After the Heavenly Curtain exposed his conduct toward Xiao Wu, he dismissed public condemnation and openly treated strength and Heavenly Dao rewards as more valuable than reputation or personal bonds. 86 88

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer, a pairing he regards as the ideal union of control and attack. 30 31

  • Blue Silver Divine Grass — God-tier evolution of the Blue Silver Emperor; its leaves became pure gold and were filled with divine power. 32
  • Clear Sky Divine Hammer — God-tier evolution of the Clear Sky Hammer; enlarged tenfold, turned dark gold, and gained destructive lightning. 32
  • Asura-infused hammer — Asura Divine Power later changed the hammer to dark red and covered it with killing-intent patterns. 44
  • His confidence in the superiority of Twin Martial Souls is repeatedly undermined by Great Tang’s higher-ranked powers. 63 64

Hidden Weapons and Tang Sect arts

As Tang Sect’s founder, Tang San specializes in hidden weapons and poison. 9

  • Received a hundred-thousand-year first soul ring through the Tang Sect’s ranking reward. 9
  • Received the Divine Machine Hundred Refinements Hidden Weapons forging blueprint, capable of raising hidden weapons to quasi-divine-artifact power. 9
  • Uses the Purple Demon Eyes; he claimed they had identified an escape route during Martial Soul Hall’s encirclement of Xiao Wu. 86
  • Considered Mozi’s mechanism technology valuable enough to order a continent-wide search for Mechanism City. 12

Sea God and Asura God powers

Tang San passed the Sea God’s Nine Trials and drew the Sea God’s Trident before acquiring the Asura God’s power. 64 83

  • Received direct Asura Divine Power before completing the Asura Nine Trials. 44
  • Achieved coexistence of the Sea God and Asura God divine positions. 55
  • Manifested Sea God and Asura divine wings simultaneously after receiving the God King Blue Silver Armor. 90
  • Li Xin’s pressure temporarily stripped him of both Sea God and Asura Divine Power. 84
  • The Asura God later abandoned him and severed the God Realm’s connection to the Douluo Star. 92

Myriad Poison Origin and Eight Spider Lances

The Heavenly Dao upgraded Tang San’s external soul bone, the Eight Spider Lances, into a Dao-level divine artifact and granted him the Myriad Poison Origin. 88

  • The lances can slice open space and release dark-green poison mist. 88
  • Tang San claimed the poison could destroy even gods, though this was his own boast. 88
  • He formed poison barriers that corroded the attacks of the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape, injuring both through the backlash. 89
  • The artifact and poison did not prevent his eventual death at Li Xin’s hand. 95

God King Blue Silver Armor

Tang San received the God King Blue Silver Armor as an absolute defensive artifact. 90

  • Its Chaos Orb absorbed the Sky Azure Bull Python’s cyan lightning without visible damage. 90
  • It was described as invincible below the God King realm. 90
  • Li Xin’s final ranking pressure caused the armor to creak under strain and extinguished the Chaos Orb’s light. 91

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Sea God’s Trident — Super Divine Artifact drawn after Tang San passed the Sea God’s Nine Trials. 64 83

  • Xiao Wu — Former lover and sacrifice target; her discovery of Tang San’s scheme ends their relationship, and she defects to Great Tang. 86 92
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher whom Tang San once revered; Tang San’s respect deteriorates after Yu Xiaogang’s conduct during the Shrek crisis. 37 41
