Background / History
Luo Ping operates from a secret southern base and repeatedly travels through dangerous territory in search of capable, like-minded companions. He believes humanity cannot survive indefinitely by scavenging relics of the old world; instead, people must study the new environment and develop sustainable food sources. Previous groups with similar aspirations failed because they lacked the strength to defend themselves, leading Luo Ping to conclude that idealists must first “grow some fangs.” 30 40
Before his reunion with Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei, Luo Ping hid in a cave and met a non-New Human survivor whom he considered a promising companion. County-town forces ambushed them at a gas station, stole Luo Ping’s car and supplies, and killed the companion. Luo Ping responded by pursuing revenge against the county-town forces and Gao Family Village. 40
After days of fighting, starvation, and severe injuries, Luo Ping encounters Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei again while concealed in tall grass. They give him instant noodles, triggering his Type B recovery ability and saving him from apparent death. In return for further food, he takes them to Gao Family Village, retrieves weapons and ammunition, then returns to Fengcheng County to continue fighting. 39 40
Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei later provide him with logistical support—cooking rice and dehydrated vegetables while Doggy guides him back from the battlefield. Luo Ping repeatedly returns from combat gravely wounded, restores himself by eating, and eventually breaks the county town’s resistance after its ammunition is depleted. He rewards the pair with oil barrels and compressed biscuits, then receives a bag of white rice from them in return. 41 42 43
Although Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei decline his invitation to join the base, Luo Ping accepts their decision and asks them to direct suitable people to him. He later reports that he has dealt with the people of Liangshui Village, allowing the pair to travel onward safely. 42 43
Appearance
Luo Ping presents himself as a flamboyant, sharp-dressed survivor despite the ruin around him. His confident grin, long hair, and sunglasses contribute to the “sharp” image that inspires Lu Xi'an’s nickname. 29 39 43
- Long hair and sunglasses 29 43
- Tattered, dirty trench coat 29
- Slightly uneven but notably white teeth, frequently shown when he smiles 29 39
- Was found severely injured with a chest gash, blood-soaked coat, pale face, and white lips after his conflict with the county town 39
Personality
Luo Ping is outgoing, theatrical, and unusually talkative for the post-apocalyptic setting. He habitually addresses strangers as “big brother” and “big sister,” treats fair trading as a basis for friendship, and remains cheerful even when injured or facing armed suspicion. 29 30 39
His friendliness is paired with ambition and a willingness to use force. The murder of his companion provokes intense grief and rage, driving him to repeatedly attack the county town despite the risk of death. 40 41
He is also an idealist with a practical edge. Luo Ping rejects dependence on dwindling old-world supplies, but unlike earlier failed groups, he believes a future settlement must be protected through strength as well as vision. 40
Abilities & Skills
Type B New Human Recovery
Luo Ping’s defining ability is rapid recovery through food consumption. Even when he appears near death, eating allows his injuries to visibly heal and restores his vitality. 39 40
- A fragment of instant noodles causes his chest wounds to scab over and his color to return. 39
- Full meals of instant noodles, rice, and dehydrated vegetables restore him to fighting condition after severe injuries. 40 41
- He describes food replenishment as essential for a Type B New Human’s complete recovery. 40
- His recovery makes him exceptionally difficult to kill through ordinary combat, though prolonged fighting exhausts his food supply and leaves him near death from hunger. 39 40
Combat Resilience
Luo Ping repeatedly returns to battle after being shot or critically wounded, using his recovery ability to sustain prolonged engagements against organized survivors. 40 41
- Claims to have wiped out Gao Family Village’s stronghold. 39 40
- Continues fighting in Fengcheng County after surviving a bullet wound to the head. 41
- Uses the enemy’s ammunition depletion to help break their resistance. 42

- Gives Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei AA batteries and a comic book without demanding payment. 30
- Recruits by offering his base’s resources and a vision of a life “worth living.” 30 42
