"Careful!"
Dio watched Kars hatch from his egg, his eyes widening. His golden hair whipped around him as he immediately activated Time Stop.
Kars was surprisingly tenacious, finding a way to return to this world through such a method.
At this critical juncture, if he didn't act, Dawn's life would be in danger.
"The World!"
"Muda muda muda muda!!!"
The World unleashed a rapid barrage of punches. As Time Stop ended, Kars's body erupted in bursts of blood.
Dio scooped up Dawn and moved away from Kars, a hint of confusion welling up inside him.
Why wasn't Time Stop copied?
"Dio, calm down."
Dawn stopped Dio from continuing his attack, his gaze fixed on Kars as he spoke, "Can you speak?"
The wounds on Kars's body healed at an astonishing speed. His eyes were cold, and his terrifying aura impacted everyone present.
Suddenly, Kars leaped up, his arm transforming into a tentacle and snatching a small, scarlet monster that fell from the sky.
The scarlet monster let out a horrifying roar, attempting to devour Kars's flesh.
Kars ignored it, opening his mouth and swallowing it whole. The atomic structure in his stomach rearranged, forming a substance harder than diamond.
The scarlet monster's attempts to devour were slower than Kars's recovery speed.
A moment later, Kars knelt on one knee, his lips slightly parted, his Adam's apple trembling, yet he couldn't utter a sound.
Kars seemed to realize the problem. His head twisted, and a large number of eyes emerged, scrutinizing the way everyone spoke.
The sight made everyone instinctively step back in fear.
After a short while, Kars opened his mouth, attempting to speak.
"Uh, uh, uh, uh..."
The crowd exchanged uneasy glances, silently on guard. Dawn, however, spoke gently, offering guidance.
"Take your time. Focus on chest resonance and vocal cord vibration."
"Uh... I, I'm not, Ka... Kars."
The burly man stood up. His highly developed brain quickly grasped language, as if it were an innate ability, as easy as moving his arm.
"My master."
His speech became fluent, his pronunciation perfect, as devout as a pilgrim's.
Kars saw Dawn, and his eyes became clear again, like a puppy eager for a pet. He nudged closer and began nuzzling against him.
Dawn, as usual, stroked his dragon horns.
"To commemorate this strong foe, from now on, your name shall be Kars."
"Unbelievable..."
Mista clutched his heart, his mind in turmoil, and stumbled backward repeatedly.
He involuntarily recalled the scene from the previous loop where Kars had severed Dawn's head. The contrast with the present was stark.
Mr. Dawn... must absolutely not be offended.
A natural cave.
Dawn found Darby and, as he wished, extracted Diavolo's soul, turning it into a soul coin.
He then visited Rohan Kishibe and successfully rewrote Diavolo's life memories.
"Dawn, I've already modified the memories of the other soul in your mind. Kars is dead. What are your plans now?"
Rohan Kishibe's decadent demeanor vanished, and he radiated vitality.
With Kars gone, the remaining vampires in the world were no longer a threat.
Heaven's Door would teach them how to behave.
Dawn hesitated, his mind drifting to the concept of alternate universes.
Once the main entity departed, the alternate universe would cease to exist.
"Rohan, are there any Stone Masks remaining?"
A bold idea, unprecedented and impossible for ordinary people, surfaced in Dawn's mind.
Rohan Kishibe looked slightly perplexed but arranged for a Stone Mask to be brought, curious about Dawn's intentions.
Previously, to prevent Dio from dying of old age, Rohan Kishibe had arranged for Darby to steal a Stone Mask, which was now conveniently available.
Dawn took a deep breath, holding the Stone Mask. A sense of mischief suddenly arose within him, and a wicked, unrestrained smile spread across his lips as he let out a hearty laugh.
"Rohan!"
Rohan Kishibe's brow twitched, a bad premonition rising in his heart.
"I've learned one thing from my brief life: the more one schemes, the more likely they are to fail due to uncontrollable factors."
Rohan Kishibe took half a step back, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead, and pleaded, "Rei, don't say such frightening things."
If Rei, who had just taken down Kars, decided to rule the world, Rohan Kishibe would truly be helpless.
Rei raised the Stone Mask and calmly put it on, like the ultimate villain pulling all the strings from behind the scenes.
"Rohan, do you understand? Humans have limits. I don't want to be human anymore!"
Kars's burly figure appeared, he tore open his chest, crushed his heart, and the blood of the Ultimate Lifeform splattered onto the Stone Mask.
The scorching heart's blood was quickly absorbed by the Stone Mask, and bone spurs dug deep into Rei's skull. The transformation had begun.
"Dio, hurry! Mr. Rei is acting strange!"
Rohan Kishibe roared, turning and sprinting towards the stone house without looking back.
Everyone rushed over, and the Stone Mask happened to fall off.
The mask landed on the ground, a crack appearing. This transformation seemed to have placed a great burden on the Stone Mask.
"Rei, are you alright?"
Dio asked cautiously, the atmosphere around them feeling very wrong.
A pressure from a high ecological niche emanated into everyone's hearts. This pressure was familiar; it was the same kind Kars had exuded not long ago.
"I'm fine. It was just to leave you all with a sliver of hope."
Sharp fangs protruded from Rei's mouth, his skin was fair, and his eyes were as captivating as a blood moon. Every movement exuded composure.
He was beyond vampires, not a Pillar Man, and surpassed living corpses.
Born into this world.
Though not as powerful as the Ultimate Lifeform, he no longer feared the sun, his thirst for blood was almost nonexistent, and his body could undergo minor transformations.
His only two flaws were the lack of Kars's immortality that could adapt to any environment and his ability to transform at will.
His combat ability, while lacking Kars's tens of tons of strength, was still extraordinary, barely reaching Super A-Class.
Rei's palm slowly twisted, eventually turning into a wriggling mass of flesh that fell to the ground.
"If I leave a part of my body here, will the hypothetical universe still be annihilated?"
Rei made his greatest effort. Next, it was time to leave.
After obtaining the Stone Mask and the Insect Arrow pendant, Rei waved goodbye to everyone.
[This hypothetical universe is about to end...] [Main body departing] [Hypothetical universe annihilating...] [Annihilation failed] [Main body has not fully departed] [Calculating lottery...]
In the empty, silent, unknown realm, Rei's eyes saw the past of the hypothetical universe.
Causing chaos in Night City, encountering Mista, striking Kars with lightning.
Everything settled, and three orbs of light broke through the void, landing before Rei.
[Hypothetical · Insect Arrow Pendant] [Hypothetical · Stone Mask] [Hypothetical · Dragon Tamer · Ultimate Lifeform] [Hypothetical Universe cooling down...] [Thank you for your patronage]
The empty, silent world collapsed. Rei's vision went black. When he opened his eyes again, he felt the world spinning.
The real world.
Diavolo logged in, glanced at the bloody hole in his chest, and was consumed by rage.
"Damn bastard, we were ambushed!"
King Crimson lunged forward, grabbing Giorno's wrist and forcibly pulling him in front of Rei.
"Heal this body quickly, Giorno. If Rei dies, I won't forgive you."
King Crimson's face was ferocious.
Giorno looked at King Crimson in confusion. Since Diavolo's Past Life had been taken by the Scales of Awakening, Giorno didn't recognize Diavolo.
However, this didn't stop Giorno from healing Rei. He was quite familiar with Rei as a partner.
"Golden Experience!"
Giorno put in the button and immediately activated his ability. A powerful heart reappeared, beating once more.
"Mr. Dawn?"
Giorno called out softly.
Dawn opened his eyes and instinctively reached for the Insect Arrow pendant around his neck.
"Got it."
