Background / History

Hun Tiandi had led the Soul Clan’s long-running campaign for supremacy for at least a millennium. A thousand years earlier, he participated in schemes that brought down several peak experts, including Xiao Xuan, Old Ancestor Fen Yan, and Pill Tower founder Dan Feng. He personally ambushed Dan Feng after the latter refused Soul Clan recruitment, forcing Dan Feng to self-destruct to escape. 18 95

He spent much of the following thousand years recovering from injuries inflicted by Xiao Xuan. During that period, the Soul Clan concealed its strength, including additional Eight-star and Nine-star Dou Saint combatants, while maintaining the Hall of Souls as its principal force on the continent. 33

The Heavenly Dao Gold Ranking reignited Hun Tiandi’s ambition to break through to Dou God/Dou Emperor. He treated its rewards—particularly Emperor Grade Pills and Source Qi of the Emperor—as the means to complete the Soul Clan’s Millennium Plan and establish the clan as the continent’s sole ruler. 2 23 34

Heavenly Dao Gold Ranking and Seven Star Palace conflict

Hun Tiandi initially expected the Hall of Souls to top the Sect Power Ranking. When the Seven Star Palace and Pill Tower surpassed expectations, he prepared the Soul Clan for conflict and resolved to seize any Emperor Grade Pill regardless of its owner. 2 18 19

He led the Soul Clan to the Meteor God Ice Plain to breach the Seven Star Palace’s defenses. The Sect Protecting Grand Formation resisted him, and the Seven Star Palace’s Tian Quan Hall Master killed the Six-star Dou Saint Hun Qianmo before forcing the Soul Clan to retreat. 29 31

Family Ranking and war against the Ancient Clan

After the Soul Clan ranked second among families, Hun Tiandi chose to enhance Hun Yan and Hun Sha rather than revive four Living Dead Elders, prioritizing additional Nine-star Dou Saint combat power. 47

He then led an assault on the Ancient Clan, seeking Gu Xun’er’s Source Qi of the Emperor. When Gu Yuan, Yan Jin, and Lei Ying refused his offer, he launched a full-scale attack with eight Nine-star Dou Saints. 53

His effort to destroy the Ancient Clan’s array with a sacrificial formation failed when the Seven Star Palace intervened, destroyed the Soul Clan’s array, and accepted the Ancient Clan under one year of protection. 56 57

Half-Emperor breakthrough and Soul Realm isolation

Hun Tiandi refined five strands of Source Qi and became a Half-Emperor. He suspended overt action against Xiao Yan and the major clans while waiting for the Genius Ranking to conclude, but continued to regard Xiao Zhan as leverage for obtaining the Tou She Ancient God Jade. 72

He later discovered a spatial rift within the Soul Realm and sensed Source Qi on the other side. Unable to expand it, he stationed Soul Clan forces around it. 85 The rift brought Bing Yun of the Ice Demon Clan into the Soul Realm, but a powerful formation subsequently sealed both men inside. 88 89

Downfall

The Supreme Ranking disclosed that Hun Tiandi was the strongest person beneath the Dou Emperor realm but only tenth overall, revealing the existence of numerous Dou Emperor-level figures. It also granted him a breakthrough reward requiring one month to refine. 94 95

The Gold Ranking’s revelations further destroyed his plans: Dan Feng was alive, the Seven Star Palace had long surpassed the Soul Clan, and Lin Yuan had emptied the Tou She Ancient God’s Tomb a thousand years earlier. 95 98

Xiao Xuan, Tang Fen, and Dan Feng eventually entered the Soul Realm. Xiao Xuan revealed that the Soul Clan had been allowed to endure partly to temper Xiao Yan, then killed Hun Tiandi with a soul-annihilating strike. The Soul Clan was subsequently annihilated. 104 105
