Lynn and Professor Foxx found a small inn and checked in.
Meanwhile, Smith returned to the church.
Simon and Leon had not left yet. They waited in the church with Rosier, smoking.
The Lord's sacred place was now thick with smoke.
Smith pushed open the church doors and, caught off guard, was choked by the smoke filling the room.
"Have you smoked enough? If believers come in and see this, Rosier, aren't you afraid of punishment from the church?"
Rosier stubbed out her cigarette, her face full of disdain.
"If I were afraid of those old zealots, I wouldn't have become a nun in the first place."
Leon and Simon opened the windows to air the place out while asking Smith what he had found.
Smith laboriously sat down on a pew and shook his head.
"They were too alert. I think I may have tipped them off."
Simon and Leon looked at each other. Rosier spoke up then.
"So you went out, learned nothing, and exposed us instead?"
"Our presence here isn't exactly a secret. They would have found out about us sooner or later. Besides, I didn't come back empty-handed." Smith rubbed his crippled leg.
"I feel like I've seen that adult wizard before. Leon, go find all the Daily Prophet issues from the previous year."
"Why do you always order me around?" Leon muttered, but he still got up, went into the back room of the church, and carried out a thick stack of newspapers.
Smith started flipping through them from the bottom. He quickly found what he wanted, pulled out a copy of the Daily Prophet, and spread it before the other three.
