Background / History

East King Duke conceived the Immortal Court as a means to gather exceptional cultivators, secure cultivation resources, and avoid being left without capable subordinates. After accepting the position of Head of Male Immortals, he began attracting followers among the powers leaving Zixiao Palace, though many regarded the undertaking as a provocation against Di Jun and Taiyi’s Demon Court 1 5.

The court was formally founded after the Heavenly Dao led East King Duke and West Queen Mother to the emerging Thirty-Three Heavens at Buzhou Mountain. Declaring the Heavenly Court its blessed land, East King Duke used his position as Heavenly Emperor and the Heavenly Emperor Seal to establish the Supreme Immortal Court in accordance with Heaven’s will 31.

Its early rise immediately brought it into conflict with the Demon Court. Di Jun and Taiyi claimed the Heavenly Court as an opportunity karmically connected to them, but East King Duke refused to surrender it and fought to retain control 32. The court subsequently expanded through recruitment, administration, and public displays of its scale and authority 43 49.

The acquisition of the Investiture of Immortals transformed the court from a powerful faction into an institution capable of granting immortality, resurrection, and divine offices. With its immortals invested and its Six Departments established, the court gained a force whose fallen members could be restored through the Investiture 47 50 51.
