Background

Xu Fengnian is the heir apparent of Northern Liang, whose military strength has made the Liyang royal family deeply suspicious of his family. He explains that his deliberately dissolute reputation and his journey away from home were intended to lower Liyang's guard; during that journey, he was swindled out of his travel funds and survives frugally alongside Old Huang. 76 77
