The Five Kage were still gathered in the conference room, coordinating the overall situation while waiting for Nagato to reveal himself.
Just then, Shikaku Nara, the Allied Forces' chief intelligence officer, hurried into the conference room again, carrying a large stack of documents.
Before Shikaku could speak, Tsunade said, "Looks like bad news?"
Shikaku nodded. As he laid the documents on the conference table, he reported, "First, we've received word from the temporary camp in the Land of Iron. The vanguard heading for Target Seven, the encirclement force, and the support force personally led by General Mifune have all gone missing!"
Mei Terumi, the Acting Mizukage, exclaimed, "What?"
Fifth Kazekage Pakura asked, "What exactly happened in the Land of Iron?"
Shikaku shook his head. "The temporary camp in the Land of Iron doesn't know either. They've sent out three reconnaissance squads in succession, but there's still no definite news."
The Third Tsuchikage furrowed his brow. "Was the intelligence wrong, or..."
If the intelligence had simply been wrong, and there were other official Akatsuki Organization members at Target Seven in the Land of Iron besides Moryo and Shinnō, causing all three forces—the vanguard, the encirclement force, and the support force—to run into trouble, that would still be somewhat understandable.
After all, this was war. Casualties were inevitable.
But if the three forces had run into trouble because the Takamagahara simulation was ineffective, then they were in serious trouble. They would have to scrap their previous tactics and reorganize the encirclement forces deployed throughout the Shinobi World.
