Background / History

Rin was present at the Naka River when Uchiha Chi confessed to her and asked her to marry him. Overwhelmed by the sudden proposal, she rejected him; his calm departure led her to believe that the confession had been a cruel prank, leaving her angry and hurt 1 2.

After Chi revealed how deeply her rejection had hurt him, Rin was unable to dismiss the encounter. She cried, felt responsible for causing him pain, and became determined to apologize despite not knowing where he lived 3 14 24.
