Background / History

Before the Primordial Beginning divided, Heaven and Earth resembled a single unformed egg filled with turbulent currents. Chaos stretched endlessly as gray mist, neither bright nor dark, and time had no meaningful measure. Flecks of spiritual light eventually appeared, becoming Chaos Origins that absorbed the surrounding Chaos Energy Streams and developed into Demon Gods 1.

The Demon Gods fought over one another’s Origins for countless Yuanhui. Their battles repeatedly shattered and reformed Chaos, while survivors grew stronger by devouring the defeated. Eventually, only three thousand remained. Pangu, the last Demon God nurtured by the Great Dao and master of Strength, surpassed them all and opened the Primordial World 1.

Chaos remained outside the newly created world. Ancient Demon God resonances persisted within it, and surviving beings such as Yang Mei returned to its depths to pursue their Great Daos 197 333.

Nature and Conditions

• Undivided origin: Chaos is described as the beginning of all things, before yin and yang separate. Its primordial state provides a setting for studying how differentiated forces emerge from one source 326 329.
• Unmeasurable time: Time initially has no meaning in Chaos; later travelers likewise experience its passage in ways beyond ordinary understanding 1 329 333.
• Destructive energy: Far from the Primordial Membrane, Chaos Qi can instantly wear an ordinary Great Luo Golden Immortal without a supreme protective treasure into nothingness 436.
• Travel hazards: Explorers must account for lethal energies, distortions, and unknown beings. Zhenyuanzi’s group prepares supplies, mutual support, and emergency plans before entering 327.
• Capacity for evolution: Chaos can embrace all things and evolve myriad phenomena. Zhenyuanzi’s fully activated Innate Five Elements Great Formation touches the edge of this property 193.
• Responsive surroundings: Powerful Dao manifestations can impose patterns on chaotic currents. Yin Yang and Yang Mei’s exchange leaves a region with clearer law fluctuations, making it particularly suitable for further cultivation 329 332 333.

• Fewer worldly restraints: Zhenyuanzi chooses Chaos for its vast domain and primordial power, seeking to minimize damage to the Primordial World and avoid unnecessary Heavenly Dao attention and karma 326.
• Yin Yang’s breakthrough: Yin Yang uses the undifferentiated environment to deepen his understanding of Chaos transforming into yin and yang, attaining Primordial Chaos Great Luo through his own Great Dao rather than Heavenly Dao recognition 326 331.
• Hong Yun’s return to origin: Ancient elemental resonances provide the scattered origins he refines through his Four Symbols Dao Bodies. Their eventual annihilation and unification produce One-Origin Qi and complete his Dao attainment 333 334 335.
• Zhenyuanzi’s proof through strength: His breakthrough follows the cycle of earth evolving into Chaos, destruction giving rise to creation, and all things returning to earth 335 336 337.
• No escape from obligations: Yang Mei warns that Chaos offers only temporary refuge; entering it does not erase karma or remove the need to face the Primordial World’s approaching tribulations 332.

• Great Earth Chaos Scripture: Its internal “Chaos World” phantom represents a complete, self-contained Dao system, not an actual created world 73.
• Earth-natured Chaos: Zhenyuanzi’s breakthrough cluster is explicitly distinct from the original pre-world Chaos. Derived from earth taken to its extreme, it is heavier, denser, and more inclined toward condensation and suppression 336.
• Book of the Earth: By bearing the full evolution-and-return cycle, the treasure ascends into a Chaos Spirit Treasure capable of independently expressing those principles within boundless Chaos 337.

• Zeus’s warning: Zeus claims that worlds attract Calamity Qi after expanding beyond a threshold, calling it both a warning from Chaos and Chaos “striking back.” He further claims continued expansion could make the entire Chaos hostile to the Primordial World; this remains his explanation, not an independently confirmed fact 497.
• Border surveillance: After learning about the foreign worlds, Zhenyuanzi proposes outposts along the Primordial World’s borders to monitor developments in Chaos 497.
• Limits of peaceful isolation: Yang Mei initially observes other worlds without interfering, but follows their gods when they approach the Primordial World’s border as a possible threat 497.
