An unexpected discovery

"Listen up." Honglian gave the agents their final instructions. "This is a covert arrest, so we have to choose our moment carefully. If you spot the suspect, do not act on your own. Notify me first and wait for my approval before making a move. Understood?"

The organization's approach to arrests differed from the police's. They could neither sound their sirens and lock down the park nor order its management to cooperate with their investigation. Even with the search area narrowed down, that final step still required agents to stake out the area or patrol it.

Everyone nodded in unison.

"We'll split up now. Jiang Siqi, Elorie, you three will search the southeast with me. Wang Baihu, take Han Yuhao and Li Xing and search the northwest. Xiao Jiu, stay in the vehicle and watch the main gate."

"Understood!" Xiao Jiu answered nervously.

"Okay, out we go."

They filed out and split into two teams, heading off in opposite directions. To anyone watching, they were simply pedestrians out for a stroll. Even if they stopped now and then, no one would pay them any mind.

Since the High-Tech Zone was far from the city center and it was still working hours, the streets beside the park were rather quiet.

"Um... can I use my phone?" Jiang Siqi asked.

"It's best not to play on your phone during a mission, unless it's urgent." Honglian gave her a somewhat surprised glance. This new recruit was calmer than she had expected. Most rookies wished they had an extra pair of eyes on their first field mission, yet this girl had enough attention to spare to ask a question like that.

"Oh." Jiang Siqi scratched her head and withdrew the hand she had slipped into her pocket.
