Background and History

Angel and Devil Hunter

Elorie originated from a near-contemporary version of France, where Angels opposed Devils and Mind Rings powered by so-called Flawless Crystals were commonplace. She tracked the Devil Gustav across worlds by sensing his aura, eventually arriving in Jiangcheng. 171 182 183

To continue her hunt without revealing her true objective, she joined the Dimensional Limit Organization's Jiangcheng Branch and sought assignment to Honglian's execution team. She withheld the Devil's identity and her reasons for remaining in the city from the Organization. 170 171

During the Wuhuan Machinery Factory incident, Elorie recognized that Gustav had created large numbers of Soul-Lost Puppets and judged him too powerful to defeat alone. She revealed her Light Wings and fought two sickle-armed mutants, but was rapidly exhausted. After Gustav's aura vanished, she pursued it to the rooftop and was swallowed by a spreading mass of black light. 178 179 180

Displacement to Future Paris

The spatial rift sent Elorie, Chen Xuan, and Liu Shuyue to a ruined future version of Paris. Seeing the destroyed Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe devastated her, but she chose to investigate the ruins in hopes of preventing the same catastrophe in her own era. 182 183

In Second New Paris, Elorie learned that more than a century had passed. The Angel Alliance had collapsed, Devils had vanished, and humanity had retreated underground after attacks by Crystal Clusters launched from an Ancient Insect embedded in the Moon. 192 193 194

Governor Nymph revealed that the Angel Alliance's Flawless Crystals and Mind Rings were derived from living flesh associated with Mother Body Lucy, later called Primordial Life. Elorie was disturbed by the revelation that Angels, Devils, mutation, and the Primordial Life may share connected origins. 193 194

Preventing the Apocalypse

Second New Paris regarded Elorie as a potential symbol of hope and asked her to participate in Fusion with Primordial Life. Though afraid of raising expectations she could not fulfill, she agreed to help because she considered the city's people—including possible descendants of those she knew—her countrymen. 195

The Ability Store later made her a registered guest. In exchange for Affinity Blood, Elorie received Living Dead and Heart Calming Incantation; Room 204 then allowed her to revisit her former home before Paris's destruction. 204

After returning to her own era, Elorie attempted to warn the Angel Alliance about the coming Devil attack, the destruction of the Temple Treasury, and the lunar threat. The Alliance dismissed her warnings, so she hired Chen Xuan and his companions to help raid the Treasury before the Devils could seize Mother Body Lucy. 231 235

Elorie fought beside Chen Xuan during the Treasury battle, helping clear armed mercenaries and Devils. The Treasury's survival changed history: the future Paris they later visited was prosperous, above ground, and had never become Second New Paris. 240 248

Investigation, Ambush, and Recovery

Rather than return to her former era, Elorie remained in the altered future to investigate why history had changed and to trace the Angel Alliance's missing Artifacts. She quietly researched the Alliance's successor companies, including Paris's Night Moon Group. 249 254

After refusing Honglian's request to return to the Dimensional Limit Organization, Elorie was ambushed in Paris by company enforcers and a Devil with black flesh wings. She hid her research storage card, but was shot repeatedly and executed with a gunshot to the head. 255

Living Dead kept Elorie alive despite catastrophic injuries. Chen Xuan transferred her to Northern Heaven Institute, where the Life Sea sustained her body and allowed her wounds to heal; however, severe brain trauma left her unconscious. 257

Chen Xuan later used the Soul Forge to repair the partial separation between Elorie's soul and body. Rather than overwrite her identity, he forged his memory of rescuing her in a dream into a stabilizing element for her soul. Elorie opened her eyes after the procedure. 425 426

Appearance

Elorie is a modern-looking French girl with chestnut hair and blue eyes. When using her Angel power, luminous wings emerge from her back. 179 182

Elorie is initially guarded, lonely, and careful with sensitive information. During her Organization interview, she evaded questions about her family, attachments, and reasons for staying in Jiangcheng because she did not trust the Organization with her mission. 170

She is idealistic but not naïve. Elorie does not want to sacrifice teammates for an objective, yet admits she might commit an unjust act if the cause were sufficiently just. Her later decision to betray the Angel Alliance's Treasury stems from the same principle: she resents the Alliance's arrogance but refuses to let innocent people die for its failures. 171 231

Despite fear, grief, and repeated displacement, Elorie repeatedly regains her composure and acts. She turns the apparent ruin of her homeland into a reason to seek answers, accepts the danger of helping Second New Paris, and continues investigating the altered future after the apocalypse is prevented. 183 195 249
