Elsewhere, Lin Qing sprinted onward. No security door could stop her.

Even the heavy blast doors separating the reactor cores from the rest of the facility could not withstand Molecular Wire. With the weapon systems in both her arms repaired, she had regained more than eighty percent of the combat strength she'd had in Sky City.

By the third power fluctuation, she had made it into the reactor Control Room. Through the leaded glass, she could see the reactor below and the boron-rod insertion mechanism suspended from a crane arm. And, of course... several white monsters prowling around.

Once connected to the operating system, Little Green quickly secured the Control Room's highest level of access.

All Lin Qing had to do now was press the emergency shutdown button, and the reactor would shut down at once.

But she drew back her hand halfway there.

A bold idea had occurred to her.

Why not overload the reactor and cause a massive explosion? The Shadow Demon was right above the nuclear plant, absorbing its energy. If she merely shut it down, the creature might keep struggling for a long time. An explosion, though, would surely deal it a fatal blow!

"Little Green, can you melt down the core and trigger something like an explosion?" she asked her AI assistant.

"Analyzing... Probability of success exceeds ninety percent. Estimated time required: fifteen minutes," Little Green soon replied. "Although this reactor has numerous passive safety measures, all of them can be deliberately disabled."

"Good. Do it!" Lin Qing decided on the spot.

"Understood. Shutting down the cooling-water circulation pumps and withdrawing all neutron-absorbing rods..." Little Green began carrying out her orders step by step.

Alarms blared throughout the hall!

"Main circulation pumps offline!"

"Power rising too quickly in reactors one, two, and three!"
