He had scanned the woman's aide. Naturally, he wasn't about to overlook the person he'd actually come to meet.
His glasses showed that Abigail had only one ability.

That was the trouble with the Ability Store. Sometimes its descriptions gave him a rough idea of what an ability did; other times, they were utterly baffling.
Take Barrier. Its description told him nothing about what it actually did.
Still, Chen Xuan noticed two unusual things.
This was the first level-ten gold ability he had seen. Since he had never encountered an ability above level ten, he had long suspected that ten was the limit for abilities of the same tier, and anything beyond it would advance to a higher tier.
But gold was already the peak for ordinary abilities. The only ones rarer were legendary abilities, whose names appeared in color. Legendary abilities were unique, though—the Shopkeeper's Rules had a section devoted to that. In theory, a gold ability at LV10 had reached its absolute pinnacle.
But mastering any ability to that extent was incredibly difficult. How had Abigail managed it?
The other unusual thing was the word "restricted."
He had never seen that before, either.
Was her ability incomplete? Or did she need to meet certain conditions to use it?
He had deliberately fired at either side of her face to see whether her blindfold was connected to that restriction. But the result proved that she wasn't blind. Her eyes were clear and lustrous as emeralds, and the blindfold was nothing more than a strip of black cloth. It had no effect on her ability.
"I see..." Honglian said thoughtfully. "I thought her ability had something to do with mediation or arbitration."
"Because of how she
