An arched stone gate, carved with intricate scenes, stood before Gu Mian.

It was nearly two stories tall and wide enough for three cars to drive through side by side.

The gate was made of some unknown material. Its entire surface was milky white, gleaming with a sacred radiance beneath the sunlight.

Finely detailed figures were carved into the stone gate, resembling murals found in ancient tombs.

Gu Mian looked up at the very top of the gate.

In theory, he shouldn't have been able to see the carvings up there, since the gate was simply too tall.

But at that moment, Gu Mian felt as though he had some kind of connection with it. He could see the carvings at the very top of the stone gate at a glance.

Two people stood side by side there.

Because space was limited and there was so much to carve, the figures weren't very detailed. It was clear they were two people, but not who they were.

Following the carvings down the gate, he realized they depicted the deeds of the two people at the top.

Their lives diverged from the top of the gate, their stories continuing down two separate stone pillars.

The person on the left pillar led a group of Upper Class people to gradually take over the world and enslave the lower classes. At the height of his glory, he stood surrounded by a great crowd of Upper Class people. But that glory didn't last long. In the scenes that followed, he quietly withdrew from the crowd. The final image showed him frozen before a gigantic statue.

Gu Mian understood.

This was Slaughter's life.

In the Secret Forest, Slaughter had told Gu Mian about his past. He and two others had come to this world, intending to
