As Gu Mian awkwardly poked his head under the desk, the face hidden in the ghost's arms came into view.
It was the pale, unfamiliar face of a corpse, its skin covered in patches of livor mortis. Its eyes were wide open, as if staring at the person peering under the desk.
Was it really looking at him, or was this ghost just naturally big-eyed?
Gu Mian leaned closer, wanting to check whether those wide eyes were just part of the ghost's appearance.
The moment he moved closer, the ghost's eyes shifted.
"Why do those eyes look even wider now? I'll have to take a closer look." Gu Mian immediately leaned in even closer. But before he could inspect it properly, the ghostly face suddenly vanished, leaving only the empty ceiling reflected in his eyes.
