Half-Step Immortal King

A cultivator becomes a Half-Step Immortal King after beginning to imprint the Great Dao within their body. These Dao imprints grant power far beyond a peak Taiyi Golden Immortal, but the cultivator has not yet completed an Immortal Foundation or passed the Immortal King Tribulation. 1953

Forging an Immortal Foundation

To enter the realm, a cultivator must combine Great Dao imprints with a magic artifact or technique and forge an Immortal Foundation. Its completion triggers the Immortal King Tribulation; only after the foundation is tempered by that tribulation is the breakthrough complete. 1953

• An Immortal Foundation may be forged from an immortal artifact, a Lingbao, or a secret technique containing the power of the Great Dao. 1893
• The stronger the artifact or technique used, the stronger the resulting foundation and its reserves of Immortal Force. 1893
• A foundation forged from even a low-grade Postnatal Lingbao can allow a First-Level Immortal King to contend with a Second-Level King whose foundation was forged from a First-grade Immortal Artifact. 1893
• One hundred and eight Great Dao imprints create a pinnacle-grade foundation; Ning Wangshu's Creation Golden Lotus Immortal Foundation emitted Immortal Might comparable to that of an ordinary Second-Level Immortal King before its tribulation was complete. 1958

Immortal King Tribulation

Immortal King Tribulation Fire performs the final tempering of a newly forged foundation. It is powerful enough to melt ordinary immortal artifacts, yet Ning Wangshu used it to temper his body and complete his Glazed Golden Body. 1959 1960

• A cultivator cannot complete an Immortal King breakthrough within the Kunlun Mirror's inner world because its Great Dao and laws are incomplete. 1893
• The breakthrough must be performed in the Immortal Realm, where the cultivator can draw upon the Great Dao while reshaping their foundation. 1893
• Nine distinct foundations, ideally made from increasingly powerful techniques or treasures, are required for a future attempt at the Immortal Emperor realm. 1893

Abilities & Combat Standing

Immortal King Sacred Arts

Immortal King Sacred Arts are techniques associated with the realm, but their quality varies enormously. A lower-realm cultivator can wield one through inheritance or special circumstances, though its strength depends on the user and the art itself. 1814 1929

• The Immortal King Zhenshi Song was one of the Radiant Light Sacred Land's sect-defending arts; only its final three forms are true Immortal King Sacred Arts. 1814
• The Heavenly Walker Sword Canon, created by the Ninth-Level Heavenly Walker Immortal King, is described as vastly superior to ordinary Immortal King Sacred Arts. Its Heavenly Walker Dao-Slaying move killed a peak First-Level Immortal King along with his First-grade artifact and sacred art. 1930
• An Immortal King Sacred Art can still be decisively overpowered by an Emperor Art. Ning Wangshu's Creation Emperor Art destroyed the Yuxu Saint Son's Void Heaven Imperial Dao Finger, an art created by an Extreme Immortal King. 1821 1822

Dharma Bodies

An Immortal King may leave behind a Dharma Body to protect others. Gu Cang's Dharma Body possessed roughly one-tenth of his main body's strength, yet was comparable to an ordinary First-Level Immortal King. 1824

• Gu Cang's Dharma Body was carried within the Yuxu Saint Son's ring and appeared when the Saint Son faced death. 1822
• Though it could deploy the Imperial Void Sacred Land's sacred arts, the Dharma Body was used by Ning Wangshu to temper his mastery of the Creation Imperial Technique. 1823 1824

Realm Superiority

The gulf between the Immortal King realm and lower realms is ordinarily immense; observers describe those beneath it as “ants.” 1928

• A peak First-Level Immortal King was vastly stronger than Taiyi Golden Immortals, but was slain by Ning Wangshu after he temporarily raised his power to the First Heaven level and used a superior sacred art. 1928 1929 1930
• Two Third-Level Immortal Kings attempted to seize Ning Wangshu's newly forged foundation, only to be suppressed and killed after he enhanced himself to the peak of the Third Level and employed an Imperial Art. 1961 1962 1963

• Gu Cang Immortal King — A Third-Level Immortal King of the Imperial Void Sacred Land. His Dharma Body protected the Yuxu Saint Son and fought Ning Wangshu. 1822 1824 1829
• Heavenly Walker Immortal King — A Ninth-Level Extreme Immortal King whose body was later controlled by Extraterrestrial Demons. He created the Heavenly Walker Secret Art and Heavenly Walker Sword Canon. 1835 1843 1930
• Mysterious Immortal Palace Sect Master — An unnamed Ninth-Level Extreme Immortal King who emerged from seclusion to confront Ning Wangshu. 2044
• Two unnamed Third-Level Immortal Kings — Coveted Ning Wangshu's Creation Golden Lotus Immortal Foundation during his tribulation and were subsequently killed by him. 1960 1963
• Unnamed peak First-Level Immortal King — Intervened on behalf of the Imperial Zenith Mystic Sect; Ning Wangshu killed him with Heavenly Walker Dao-Slaying. 1928 1930
