Background

Ning Wangshu first arrived in the Cangyuan Realm at Jingzhou, where Old Man Han took him in and introduced him to cultivation. He departed after two hundred years, later returning to find Old Man Han and Han Shuo dead while Tingting had grown into a powerful cultivator. In gratitude, Ning protected the Han family until it became one of Jingzhou’s foremost aristocratic families. 1340

Thousands of years later, Ning revisited Jingzhou before ascending to Earth. He did not reveal himself to the Han family, instead observing them from afar and paying respects at Old Man Han’s and Tingting’s graves. By then, he had already reached the peak of the Mahayana Stage. 1340

On Earth, Ning initially kept a low profile despite possessing cultivation far beyond his peers. He attended Jiangnan University, lived with fellow students, and concealed his abilities while dealing with threats through techniques such as concealment and soul searching. 5 369

His strength became known throughout the cultivation world after he overwhelmed Ling Daoyi, Master Zhishang Chan, and the Refining Soul Old Ancestor, killing the latter. The victory established his title of Ning Xian Zun and his reputation as the era’s undisputed strongest cultivator. 475 501

After returning to the Cangyuan Realm, Ning revealed that he was the Extreme Dao Celestial Venerable, an immortal who had ascended to the Immortal Realm three thousand years earlier. Personality

Ning is outwardly calm and understated. When classmates speculate that he comes from a powerful family, he dismisses the idea and attributes the deference shown by Song Guowei and Bai Jingchuan to favors he previously did for them. 175

He is patient in cultivation and strategic about danger. After encountering threats in Kunlun Mountain that he could not yet confront, he develops a sense of urgency and devotes himself to strengthening techniques such as Pre-Technique and the Eighty-Nine Mysterious Skill. 318

Ning is fiercely protective of people he considers his own. He equips Lin Qingzhu, Ning Ruoxuan, and Zhu Xiyan with defensive treasures, creates a dharma-body safeguard for Lin Qingzhu, and establishes a mountain-protecting formation around their villa. 777
