In the Western Region Devil Country, some Devilish Cultivators sought strength by forcibly mating with Demon Beasts, producing Demon-Devil offspring. These offspring could cultivate Daoist Magic while retaining the powerful physiques of Demon Beasts, making them natural Body Cultivators. The practice also produced cultivation methods designed around demonic blood and beast-blood body forging. 80

The Devilish Immortal Way is an incense-and-faith orthodoxy comparable in principle to the Immortal and Buddhist Ways. It was ostracized and driven toward the outer realms after the Immortal and Buddhist orthodox lineages reached an understanding, leaving many of its descendants and practitioners hunted or excluded by righteous sects. 265

By the era of the Nightmare Country and Mochao Kingdom, devil bloodlines had become central to political rank and military power. The strongest demon rulers possessed exceptionally pure bloodlines, while human Devilish Cultivators occupied a comparatively low social position. 355

Demon-Devil offspring combine cultivators' ability to use Daoist Magic with the physical strength, endurance, and defensive capacity of Demon Beasts. Their Blood Sha Qi can stimulate the body to greatly increase physical power while also affecting the mind. 80 101

• Demon-Devil cultivation methods require fierce demonic blood within the practitioner; those without demonic blood cannot cultivate the primary method. 80

Devil bloodlines determine standing within demon-led states, particularly the Nightmare Country.

• The Nightmare royal family possesses the purest Demon-Devil bloodline and ranks above even powerful Devilish Cultivators. 356
• High-bloodline half-devils may develop traits such as Nightmare Double Pupils, red chest scales, or powerful tails. 355

Devilish Nature and Devil Blood

Devilish Nature is a corruptive force associated with the Devilish Immortal Way. It can invade the mind, distort emotions and obsessions, infect bodies, and create or empower Devilish Creatures. 255 256 283

• Devil Blood originates from a Devilish Immortal and is regarded as a sacred inheritance object by Devilish Cultivators. 204
• Contact with Devil Blood can corrupt the mind, take control of the body, and reduce the victim to a consciousless puppet or Demon/Devil. 204 255
• The highest inheritance of the Devilish Immortal Way emphasizes Devil Intent; purer Devil Intent strengthens a practitioner and may allow the generation of Devil Blood. 258

• Devilish Cultivators — Practitioners of Devilish Dao methods. They may be human, half-devil, or affiliated with demon-led powers; they are not necessarily members of the Devil Race. 95 355

The Nightmare Country is a demon-led state in which Devils and high-bloodline half-devils dominate human cultivators.
