Background / History

Tang Dongfeng initially believed he would have to pass the Sea God's Seventh Trial to obtain the trident. After completing his first trial, he negotiated with Poseidon, who changed the second trial from crossing the Ring Sea to drawing the weapon. Xiao Bai then led Tang Dongfeng to it 72 74 76 78.

Tang Dongfeng pulled the trident from a rock with a slight tug. Xiao Bai could not move it in human form, despite how easily he handled it. He subsequently practiced controlling its weight with Xiao Bai and used it against Sword Douluo and other opponents 78 79 81.

After leaving Douluo Continent, Tang Dongfeng continued to wield the trident. He later moved it from the Sea God's Mark into his system storage ring and erased the mark, severing his connection to the Sea God's inheritance 314 352 376.

Appearance

The trident is a plain, pitch-black weapon rather than the golden weapon Tang Dongfeng expected 78.

• Its two side blades are relatively thin; the broad central blade is two chi long and half a chi wide 78.
• It weighs 108,000 jin, though Tang Dongfeng can wield it easily. Xiao Bai cannot move it in human form 78 85.
• Tang Dongfeng can coat it in Sea Heart Flame, changing its appearance and adding elemental effects 81 84 209.

Abilities & Use

Weight and striking power

• The trident has a hundredfold difference in gravity. Tang Dongfeng trains to wield it precisely because an uncontrolled strike could kill a sparring partner 79 81.
• A descending blow shatters Thousand Jun Douluo's Coiled Dragon Staff 85.
• Under a hundredfold gravity enhancement, it severs one of the Evil Eye Tyrant's tentacles 257.

Thirteen Halberds of Gold

Tang Dongfeng uses the trident to perform Sea God techniques, including:

• Unpredictable Waves — a control move that envelops Xiao Bai and later pins the Evil Lord in place 78 259.
• Sea God's Light — a defensive barrier that blocks most incoming damage, though sufficiently powerful attacks can break through it 82 101 130 245.
• Never Return — a thrown attack used against Tang Chen. At greater power, its successive impacts break through Tang Chen's defense 209 270.
• Body and halberd as one — Tang Dongfeng merges with the trident for the thirteenth form's single-target attack 270.

Elemental enhancement

• Tang Dongfeng channels Sea Heart Flame and its other attributes through the trident, including Extreme Gold for sharpness and Five Elements Fire for an attack against Tang Chen 84 209.
• He also uses its tip to gather flames for self-created attacks such as Brilliant as the Sun 104.
