Background / History

Hatake Sakumo's suicide leaves Kakashi withdrawn, vacant-eyed, and detached from his classmates. He initially states that he has no dreams and dislikes people who hold him back in battle. 1 2

Before his death, Sakumo instructs Kakashi to seek out Uchiha Jin. Kakashi personally requests Jin's transfer into his team, then brings him to a secluded training ground and entrusts him with Sakumo's sealed legacy: a network of trusted allies and supporters meant to safeguard Kakashi.
