To eat, or not to eat.
Not eating would mean breaking the rules, but who knew if eating it would be poisonous.
Among the crowd, a C-class player named Bai Ziheng was the first to pick up his chopsticks. The chase hadn't affected him too much, only consuming a lot of energy. He didn't seem as relaxed as Bo Shuo.
As chewing sounds filled the air, Xiao Qi, a D-class subordinate who had been following him, also picked up his chopsticks.
After swallowing, Bai Ziheng grinned. "What, no one's eating? Are you planning to let the two of us finish all this?"
Seeing someone take the lead, everyone else seemed to snap out of a daze and sat down. They then carefully poked at the food, scooping it into their mouths.
The terrible taste made everyone's expression falter.
Bo Shuo didn't touch his chopsticks.
007: "These dishes have gathered the Ghost Bride's resentment and can confuse the mind."
Beside him, Xi Guici sat steadily in his seat. He seemed to have anticipated the previous scene, having positioned himself in the most hidden corner from the start, waiting for everything to settle.
He glanced at the disgusting dishes, his brow furrowing almost imperceptibly. Then, with a smile, he looked at Bo Shuo. "Mr. Bo definitely can't eat this kind of thing."
As if by magic, in the blink of an eye, he pushed a plate of perfectly cooked meat to him.
A rich aroma rose from it.
Bo Shuo stared for a few seconds, still unable to believe that this meat had transformed from the unidentifiable dish earlier.
Bo Shuo refused to eat it.
After 007 confirmed the plate of meat was not poisoned, he handed it to Sang Yu.
Sang Yu raised an eyebrow and took it under Xi Guici's cooling gaze, then swallowed it in one bite.
Once all the food was gone, a fierce wind suddenly picked up.
The surroundings shifted rapidly, and a sense of weightlessness washed over them.
Wait!
Bo Shuo's eyes widened slightly. A bad premonition struck him as everything around him began to blur and distort.
Sang Yu's anxious call echoed in his ears, and then his entire consciousness began to dissipate.
When his consciousness returned, Bo Shuo's face was slightly pale, and his stomach ached slightly from the dizziness.
However, on the surface, there was no trace of it. He maintained his usual calm and composed demeanor.
Bo Shuo rubbed his temples and began to cautiously observe his surroundings.
He seemed to be inside a wooden house.
Red gauze surrounded him.
Layer upon layer of red flowers were scattered, and red candles and incense burned within, their wisps of smoke drifting into the air.
Beyond the red gauze, illuminated by the candlelight, shadowy figures flickered outside, making it impossible to tell if they were his own shadows or something else.
The surroundings were silent, and even the other contestants were no longer nearby.
(Please note! Corruption Value is increasing--)
On his status panel, a small red progress bar was slowly accumulating.
007 spoke anxiously, "Host, the pollution concentration here is off the charts. It's very dangerous. We need to leave quickly. If the Corruption Value exceeds the limit, we'll both die here."
As soon as he spoke, Bo Shuo felt a faint heat in his limbs, accompanied by a strange discomfort. His body screamed danger, danger, danger.
(Corruption Value: 10%)
From the depths of the red tent, a woman's mournful and desolate voice echoed, "Are you my husband?"
(Corruption Value: 15%)
A slender figure inside seemed to sit up from the bed. Two long, slender, fair fingers lifted the curtain, slowly revealing a beautiful, alluring face.
"Are you my husband?" the voice asked again.
The bride wore a luxurious wedding gown, her eyebrows like distant mountains, her eyes seemingly filled with a watery, pitiful gaze.
But beneath the scarlet wedding robe, blood and flesh seeped from her fingertips, slowly dripping to the ground.
This was no bride awaiting marriage, but a vengeful ghost demanding a life.
Cold sweat beaded on Bo Shuo's forehead. Locked onto by this extreme sense of danger, he felt as if something heavy was pressing down on his back.
Yet, his expression remained calm.
His handsome, aloof face was still as serene as ever.
The youth in black hair and red robes watched her quietly. The cold light flickered at the edges of his narrow eyes, partially obscured by the mist that diffused from nearby, lending him an air of detached disdain.
He seemed to let out a scoff, then slowly denied it.
"No," the youth paused for a moment, his tone sarcastic and cruel. "If you mistake that ugly person for me..."
"Then you must be blind."
As soon as he finished speaking, the air grew heavy.
The Ghost Bride, who had been waiting to reveal her ghostly form and devour the person before her, froze for a moment, surprised by the young man's response.
The ghostly energy boiling around her strangely quieted down.
"Then who are you?"
The Ghost Bride tilted her head. Before Bo Shuo could answer, she clapped her hands. "Then you must be a guest attending my wedding."
She muttered to herself, "It's a pity I can't find my husband. Otherwise, I would definitely let you attend a grand wedding."
"Damn it, before I find my groom, so many little bugs dared to impersonate him."
"Little bugs?" Bo Shuo asked back, unfazed.
At the mention of this, the Ghost Bride's face turned venomous. "A bunch of bugs impersonating my husband."
But in an instant, her expression changed again. Her slender, jade-like fingers slowly tied the red veil in front of her, and then she sat down at the dressing table.
