Background

Originally named Tamura Hiten, Hiroshi was recruited into Shimura Danzō’s Root. His parents adopted the surname “Tamura” in reference to Danzō, though it was not an officially recognized clan name. Danzō sent him to Kumogakure because his mature mind suited intelligence work, despite his initially mediocre cultivation talent and sole Lightning Release affinity. 14

In Kumogakure, Hiroshi publicly established himself by exposing a spy who had embezzled one billion ryō intended for village procurement. He recovered the funds, earned a one-million-ryō reward and an S-rank mission record, and gained the attention of Dodai, the Third Raikage, Yozuki A, and Fukai. 9 10

While presenting himself as a loyal Kumogakure ninja, Hiroshi continued acting as a semi-double agent for Root. He carefully cultivated value within Kumogakure while limiting his direct contact with Danzō, recognizing that both sides could surveil or discard him. 6 9 14
