Hunting Begins

By constantly hunting small prey and practicing the ways Pride Stalker used the Curved Giant Hunting Blade and Dagger during his spare time, Lianye's mastery of Pride Stalker, the rookie hero he had obtained, improved considerably. This gave him a little more confidence in making it through this world.

"After this mission ends, will the system issue new missions? It can't possibly expect me to sit here in the cold wind for months, waiting for the Titan world's plot to end, can it?"

Forcing himself to survive in the wilderness where forest met grassland was for the sake of completing the system's mission, but if the system's next mission did not provide a way or route back to the Inside Wall Area, Lianye could not possibly run around the Outside Wall Area like a headless fly.

"They—the Titans—are the prey. I... am the hunter..."

Sudden, thunderous footsteps reached Lianye's ears. Before Lianye, who had been lost in random thoughts, could react, the bestial instincts of Rengar—Pride Stalker—that had come with the Hero Ability let out a low growl in his mind.

The beast's urge to hunt and slaughter was rising.

"Ahahaha... ahahaha, the scent of prey."

A powerful Titan had appeared. Rather than being alarmed, the hunter was delighted.

System: Random Quest issued. Independently slay a lone 10-meter-class Titan.

Mission Success: 500 Hero Points.

Mission Failure: Pride Stalker's ability will be disqualified.

The Hero Mission's requirements eliminated any possibility of Lianye simply fleeing. Although his impulsive act had accidentally brought him into this Titan world filled with danger at every turn, that did not mean Lianye did not care about his own life. He still wanted to survive, then return to his original world and apologize to his sister.

The hunting instinct in his mind had already informed him of the situation before him. Lianye tightened his grip on the Curved Giant Hunting Blade in his right hand and began to run, searching for an ambush spot from which to strike.

"A 10-meter-class Titan right from the start!" Lianye forcibly calmed himself. Although his body still resisted, trembling, it was impossible to expect a boy from the twenty-first century not to fear such humanoid weapons.

"If I want to pounce on it and slice open the flesh on the back of its neck, I need to be at least level with its knees to make the leap."

"The hunt begins!"

In stark contrast, the will inherited from Pride Stalker was growing excited.

The Ultimate Hunter, who drank blood and ate raw flesh, was about to draw first blood in the Titan world! Would the hunter die at the prey's hands and become excrement, or would the prey become the hunter's trophy?

The ward provided by the Bone Tooth Necklace detected the lone Titan's route. Lianye lay in wait beneath the bushes in the forest—hide in bush. In that regard, it was rather similar to the game.

Boom! Boom! The lone Titan's massive footsteps were about to reach Lianye. The movement pattern of this dim-witted Titan was easy enough to predict.

"Wait a little longer." Lianye suppressed the restless feeling and quietly waited for the best moment to pounce upon his prey.

"Now!!!"

The lone Titan's left foot came down right before Lianye, stamping out a huge crater. Lianye leaped out, first jumping onto the branch of a short tree beside him. He was now less than six meters from the Titan's neck.
