Background / History

Lian Ye was originally an ordinary person from the 21st century. After becoming a host Summoner for the Infinite LoL System, he was transported to a world overrun by Giants and immediately assigned a five-day wilderness-survival mission. His first Hero Ability was the Pride Stalker, which turned him into a hunter capable of confronting Giants directly. 3 11 12

Over two years, Lian Ye completed 1,000 Giant subjugations and advanced to Intermediate Hunter. Although he enjoyed using Hero Abilities in real combat, the endless hunts left him weary and focused on the System missions as his possible route back to his original world. After the second phase of his hunter missions, he joined the 104th Training Corps. 22 23

Rather than devote himself to a single Hero Ability, Lian Ye deliberately collects and adapts multiple abilities to suit different worlds and situations. He regards broad mastery as central to being a Summoner. 157 275

Lian Ye’s appearance and equipment change substantially according to the Hero Ability and world he is operating in. In the Giant world, he wears a practical Survey Corps uniform; in Aincrad, his avatar uses concealed Project-series armor; and in Type-Moon conflicts, he can manifest Heroic Spirit-style war gear. 129 278 345 626
