If he had been hit, even if he did not die, he would have been severely injured.

The real world was not like a game, where one could simply wait calmly for a while after dying and revive in a fountain. Here, once he died, he was truly finished—unless Lianye could obtain Hero Abilities with resurrection effects, such as Aatrox, Zac, or Anivia, or time-reversal effects like those of the Time Assassin and Guardian of Time.

Chapter 5: "Ruthless"

Lianye hunched over and lunged forward in a low leap, activating Void Predator. At the limit of his physical ability, he suddenly sprang up and landed on the Titan's nape.

Gripping the oddly shaped Giant Hunting Blade in his right hand, Lianye let out a low "roar." "Ruthlessness!"

The days of wilderness survival had not made his practice and mastery of the giant dagger futile. They allowed Lianye, as a Summoner, to better wield the power of Heroes and demonstrate their might through what were commonly known as Hero Abilities.
