Background / History

Origin and exile

The East Sea Dragon Clan did not originate in the Evil God World. It was driven from the Supreme Immortal Realm into this world, where it preserved resources from its descent and established formations beneath the East Sea to gather spiritual energy. Many of its upper ranks regarded the Evil God World as inferior to their original realm. 1159 1206

Roughly thirty million years before the present story, the East Sea Dragon Clan attacked Chaos Main City and nearly killed a Supreme Realm expert. The incident led Chaos Main City to impose a half-month outer-city stay, allowing the Spirit Gathering Mirror to verify whether visitors possess genuine bodies. 1120

Ancient Secret Realm conflict

The clan entered the Ancient Secret Realm with its younger generation, including Long Jiangzuo, Long Qingran, Long Tianmiao, Long Weile, and Long Shuangxue. Its Supreme elders were notably protective of Dragon Clan bloodlines and could not enter the secret realm directly. 1146 1153

Long Jiangzuo's capture and dismemberment by Qin Jiuge, Fahai, and Lei Wuming escalated hostilities with the Human Race. Long Qingran and Long Tianmiao attempted to restore the clan's standing by rebuilding Heavenly Yao City and calling upon Long Weile and Long Shuangxue. 1152 1165

Crystal Palace infiltration and war

Qin Jiuge infiltrated the clan through identities arranged by Long Qingran and Long Tianmiao, eventually entering the Crystal Guard and the Crystal Palace. The Dragon Crystal detected an intruder with an impure bloodline, prompting the elders to mobilize the younger generation and promise a Supreme Realm opportunity to whoever captured the infiltrator. 1195 1205 1209

The Human Race later breached the Dragon Clan's Clan Protection Array during the Heavenly Pride Grand Competition, devastated many subordinate races, and escaped through prepared Spatial Teleportation Arrays. Long Qidao, Long Wuqing, and True Person Long responded with a broad internal purge to expose traitors and spies. 1221 1222

Collapse and concealed foundation

After the war against the Human Race, the Dragon Clan's Supreme Realm elders perished, leaving the clan temporarily leaderless. The Heavenly Dragon Guard maintained order until Long Shuangxue returned and was urged to assume the Patriarch's position. 1334 1336

The apparent losses concealed a deeper contingency. The Dragon Clan's elders and Long Weile had cultivated the Soul-Splitting Divine Ability, leaving split souls in the Dragon Clan Forbidden Land before descending from the Supreme Immortal Realm; this allows their revival. The ancestors had treated the clan's defeats as a means of tempering its younger generation. 1351

Alliance with the Tian Xuan Faction

The Dragon Clan ultimately proposed cooperation with Qin Jiuge's Tian Xuan Faction. Its long-term plan was to reorganize the Evil God World's forces, return to the Supreme Immortal Realm, and allow the stronger side of the eventual combined force to become its main branch. 1373

Qin Jiuge and the Dragon Clan Ancestor swore Heavenly Dao Oaths. The Dragon Clan then began settling in Heavenly Absolute City as the Tian Xuan Faction's declared eternal ally. 1374

Organization and Holdings

  • Supreme elders — Long Qidao, Long Wuqing, and True Person Long directed the clan from the Crystal Palace before their deaths in the war. 1205 1334
  • Dragon Clan Ancestor — An ancient figure whose power surpasses the Supreme Realm; he directs the clan's long-term strategy concerning the Supreme Immortal Realm. 1373
  • Five Great Dragon Clan Prodigies — The clan's major younger-generation talents included Long Jiangzuo, Long Qingran, Long Tianmiao, Long Weile, and Long Shuangxue. 1153
  • Long Weile and Long Shuangxue — Dragon-and-phoenix twins born of the same mother. Their linked hearts, talent, and Supreme Immortal Embryos made them central to the clan's hopes. 1166 1330
  • Heavenly Dragon Guard — Elite force that stabilized the clan after the Supreme elders fell; its commander, Long Jian, is a Half-step Supreme Realm expert. 1334
  • Crystal Guard — Guard force stationed around the Crystal Palace; new members receive top-grade magical artifacts. 1209
  • Subordinate races — The clan commands affiliated Demon Race groups, including the Flood Dragon Clan. These subordinate races were a principal target of the Human Race during the war. 1201 1218
  • Crystal Palace — The East Sea Dragon Clan's political center, guarded by Great Luo Realm protectors and stocked with Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. 1203
  • Dragon Clan Forbidden Land — Location where the ancestors retain split souls used for resurrection. 1351

Culture and Policies

  • The clan is highly bloodline-conscious and considers pure Dragon Clan lineage a major source of status and authority. 1205
  • Its elders publicly endorse contribution over inherited status: members who provide results for the clan are promised greater resources and opportunities to reach the Supreme Realm. 1205
  • The clan respects strength above all else. Qin Jiuge's power led Long Qidao to attempt recruitment rather than immediately kill him, while weaker opponents are treated without mercy. 1220
  • Betrayal is considered intolerable. Following the Clan Protection Array breach, the elders initiated purges and executed suspected Human Race spies. 1222 1234
  • Despite its conflicts with the Human Race, the elders identify the Evil God World's Heavenly Dao—not humanity—as the clan's ultimate obstacle to conquering the world and returning to the Supreme Immortal Realm. 1266

Techniques, Artifacts, and Defenses

Dragon bloodline and physical arts

The Dragon Clan possesses powerful bodies, inherited divine abilities, and physical arts. Long Qidao offered to cleanse Qin Jiuge's meridians and teach him these arts in exchange for joining the clan. 1220

  • Dragon Clan members can transform or advance through dragon-transformation rites; Qin Jiuge and Feng Ming successfully became true dragons through such a ceremony while using Flood Dragon Clan identities. 1201
  • The clan's prodigies use bloodline-derived strength, dragon might, and physical cultivation as core advantages over most Human Race cultivators. 1148 1220

Dragon Crystal

The Dragon Crystal is a major detection artifact kept in the Crystal Palace. 1205

  • It warns the elders when an infiltrator with an impure bloodline enters the East Sea Dragon Clan. 1205
  • Its warning triggered a clan-wide search and a Supreme Realm reward for the infiltrator's capture. 1205

Clan Protection Array and killing formations

The Dragon Clan maintains a Clan Protection Array and concealed killing formations around its territory. 1221 1239

  • The arrays were intended to prevent enemies from exploiting a seemingly emptied interior after Dragon Clan forces mobilized. 1239
  • The Clan Protection Array was breached during the Human Race attack, becoming a source of humiliation and prompting an internal purge. 1221 1222
  • Dragon Clan divine weapons can restrain even Supreme Realm opponents; Long Shuangxue used one while attempting to stop Long Shilin's intrusion. 1240 1241

Soul-Splitting Divine Ability

A secret foundation cultivated by the clan's senior figures and Long Weile. 1351

  • Users leave split souls in the Dragon Clan Forbidden Land before death. 1351
  • The preserved souls allow the dead to be revived, making the clan's apparent wartime losses temporary. 1351

Supreme Immortal Embryo and secret arts

Long Weile used the Supreme Immortal Embryo to seek a breakthrough into the Supreme Realm. Rootless Water temporarily interrupted the process, but Long Qidao believed it would ultimately make the embryo more complete. 1245 1248

  • Desolate Prison Heaven-Shatter — A Dragon Clan secret art used by Long Weile in a life-and-death battle. 1330
  • Icebound World: Silver Traces of the Three-Nine Frost — Long Shuangxue's Dragon Clan divine ability, used in her attempt to trade life for life against Long Shilin and Chris. 1330
  • Extinction Secret Art — Long Wuqing's sacrificial technique, which consumed half of his lifetime cultivation and would leave him crippled after use. 1306

Relationships

  • Demon Race — The East Sea Dragon Clan traditionally holds the leading position within the Demon Race and commands numerous subordinate races. 1174
  • Human Race — Principal rival during the Ancient Secret Realm and Crystal Palace conflicts; the two races fought major Supreme Realm battles over the Dragon Clan's future and control of the Evil God World. 1217 1241
  • Tian Xuan Faction — Former enemy that became the Dragon Clan's formal ally after Qin Jiuge and the Dragon Clan Ancestor swore Heavenly Dao Oaths. 1373 1374
  • Qin Jiuge — Infiltrated and repeatedly undermined the clan, controlled Long Qingran and Long Tianmiao through their Dragon Souls and Dragon Essence, then later entered an alliance with the clan. 1203 1312 1374
  • Long Qingran and Long Tianmiao — Prodigies who surrendered to Qin Jiuge under Heavenly Dao contracts, covertly acted for him inside the clan, and later sought to escape his control. 1190 1266 1312
  • Long Weile and Long Shuangxue — The clan's foremost sibling prodigies and symbols of its future; Long Shuangxue later became the clan's stabilizing leader after the elders' fall. 1166 1336
  • Heavenly Dao — The clan's strategic enemy. Its elders believe that defeating the Human Race alone cannot secure their mastery of the Evil God World or their return to the Supreme Immortal Realm. 1266

Trivia

  • The Dragon Clan's prestige is tied not only to its Supreme Realm elders but also to the continuity of its bloodlines; this is why the elders react strongly to the deaths or capture of young prodigies. 1153
  • Long Qidao considered the Dragon Clan's younger generation more deserving of resources when they proved their contribution to the clan rather than relying on talent or status alone. 1205
  • The clan's greatest apparent defeat became one of its deepest advantages because its ancestors had prepared revival measures and used the conflict to temper the next generation. 1351
