Ghoul Curse
The wheels of fate could not be stopped. Everything was destined to happen.
Prehistoric hero Enmenam had thought that the descendants who'd awakened him from his slumber had done so for no good reason, driven only by their restless hands and excessive curiosity. They had wasted both his limited lifespan and the place where he slept. But he hadn't expected the Ghoul Curse, which had once nearly wiped out all of humanity, to appear again.
His words moved every Saint present.
Enmenam had first fallen asleep around 68,000 BC. He would be awakened every two thousand years or so at the shortest, and every five thousand years at the longest. Then he would lead the few surviving humans through disasters, including floods, glaciers, geological upheavals, epidemics, and other calamities. The Ghoul Curse had been one of them.
Natural and man-made disasters had struck in turn. It was no easy feat for human civilization to have endured to the present day, especially when humanity was so good at bringing disaster upon itself.
"The Ghoul Curse? Is that the kind where people infect each other by biting, then turn into living corpses when they die? Zombies? The undead? This is the apocalypse!"
The Saint of "Words of Power," Sophia Green, stared in disbelief. She'd seen those kinds of movies and shows. The stories were pretty thrilling, full of excitement, but if something like that happened in real life, it wouldn't be fun at all.
