Background / History

Great Qin ruled Central Continent for ten thousand years. Its authority rested on the Qin Imperial Family, formidable imperial forces, Spirit Transmutation Realm ancestors, and control of the Mystic Heaven Immortal Vine Ship—the continent’s only known means of safely reaching the Lesser Spirit World. The ship’s ascension slots compelled major sects and high-level cultivators to maintain favorable relations with the empire. 199 217 261

The empire’s position weakened after one of its three Spirit Transmutation Old Ancestors died thirty years before the northern war. With its strongest cultivators reduced and the Demon Race mounting a full-scale invasion, Great Qin became dependent on outside military aid. 201 217

Great Qin concealed that the Mystic Heaven Immortal Vine Ship had not sailed for more than two thousand years and had withered. The Qin Imperial Family hid the vine beneath the imperial mausoleum, using Central Continent’s strongest dragon vein and the remains of successive emperors to suppress its deathly aura. 261 279 295

• Ruling house: The Qin Imperial Family governed Great Qin. Qin Yuan served as emperor, while Qin Heng was Crown Prince and heir apparent. 199 217

Southern Domain diplomacy

Great Qin first sent an envoy to invite the Zhang Family to the Investiture of the Gods Martial Contest and an aptitude verification in the imperial capital. Its envoy’s arrogant bearing reflected the empire’s long-standing view of the Southern Domain as inferior territory. 186

After Zhang Tianzheng entered the Spirit Transmutation Realm, Great Qin sent Crown Prince Qin Heng with representatives of the Three Sacred Lands and Eight Great Immortal Sects to offer public congratulations. The visit signaled Great Qin’s need to avoid antagonizing the rising Zhang Family. 199

Alliance against the Demon Race

Following the destruction of Northwatch Pass and its hundred-thousand-man garrison, Great Qin’s northern position sharply deteriorated. Qin Heng returned to seek Zhang Family assistance. 207 208 210

Great Qin agreed to provide extensive compensation for Southern Spirit Immortal Sect support, including the principles of the Supreme Mystery Nine Heavens Dragon-Locking Array and the Supreme Unity Sacred Land’s spirit-pattern inlaying technique. 211 213

The resulting alliance allowed the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect to operate along the Northern Border, pressure the Demon Race, and receive Great Qin supplies. 212 213 214

Transfer of Heavenly Foothills Pass

When Salt Capital City came under siege, Qin Heng chose to withdraw the Heavenly Foothills Pass garrison to reinforce the heartland. He offered the pass to the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect in exchange for supplies and continued cooperation. 280 282 283

Great Qin’s dragon banner was lowered from Heavenly Foothills Pass and replaced by the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect’s banner. The transfer exposed the severity of Great Qin’s internal crisis to the Demon Race. 284 285

Fall of Great Qin

The Three Sacred Lands and Eight Great Immortal Sects besieged Salt Capital City, exploiting Great Qin’s military exhaustion and the revelation that the Mystic Heaven Immortal Vine Ship was no longer functional. 278 279

Grand Ancestor Qin Yi sustained the city’s formation at the cost of his life force, then ordered Qin Yuan and Qin Jing to preserve the Qin bloodline through a secret escape route rather than die with the capital. 290 291

The escape route was betrayed by Yun Ruoshuang, allowing the Immortal Sects to encircle the fleeing imperial family. Qin Yuan and Qin Jing ignited their Nascent Souls and fought to the death; subsequent reports confirmed their deaths. 293 298

With Salt Capital City occupied, its treasury plundered, and its Imperial Guard defeated, Great Qin’s ten-thousand-year rule ended. Qin Heng and Qin Yao remained among the surviving imperial bloodline outside the fallen capital. 294 300 302
