History

Zhang Chen first proposed reorganizing every major Southern Domain force—righteous sects, Demonic Path sects, East Sea sects, and Barbarian Tribe settlements—into subordinate branches of a single sect. Under this proposal, independent control over resources, personnel, and inheritances would pass to the main sect. 202

Zhang Tianzheng formally announced the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect after declaring a ceasefire between the righteous path, Demonic Path, and Barbarian Tribe. The Zhang Family became its leading house, while the former factions were ordered to abolish their original structures and merge into the new organization. 203

The sect-founding ceremony established Zhang Chen as the first Sect Master. Despite widespread expectations that the merger would quickly collapse, the Blood Fiend Demon Sect, the other Demonic Path sects, and the Barbarian Tribe accepted incorporation after being shown the sect's resources and promised cultivation benefits. 204 206

Northern Border intervention

The sect entered an alliance with Great Qin against the Northern Border Demon Race, with Zhang Chen insisting that the pact be witnessed by the sect's Supreme Elders. 212 276

Its reinforcements reached Heavenly Foothills Pass, intercepted a demon transport convoy, captured two Demon Kings alive, and eliminated the convoy's demon soldiers. 230

After Great Qin's position deteriorated, Qin Heng transferred Heavenly Foothills Pass to the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect in exchange for supplies and support. The Great Qin banner was replaced with the sect's cloud-and-mountain banner. 281 283 285

Negotiations with the Demon Race

Ao Han and Tu Shan Hong of the Northern Border Demon Race entered the sect's camp without attendants to propose cooperation. Their proposal offered a Demon Race withdrawal from the Central Continent in exchange for future ascension slots on the Mystic Heaven Immortal Vine Ship. 262 265

Zhang Chen did not accept the Demon Race's terms while the alliance with Great Qin remained in force, stating that the sect would honor its spirit contract. 276

Conflict with the Sacred Lands and Immortal Sects

When the Central Continent's three Sacred Lands and eight Immortal Sects demanded that the Southern Spirit Immortal Sect surrender military authority, disband or divide its army, sever ties with Great Qin, and return to the Southern Domain, Zhang Chen rejected the ultimatum. 306

The sect exposed the Nine-Vein Spirit Restoration Formation, revealing that it would extract the origin of Tianxuan Continent's nine primary Spiritual Veins to revive the withered Mystic Heaven Immortal Vine. It presented its resistance as a campaign to preserve the continent's cultivation foundation. 306 310

After killing True Person Qianyuan, the sect annihilated the three-thousand-member Everlasting Profound Abbey delegation that accompanied him to the Northern Border. 307 309

Xianjing stratagem

The sect staged defeats in the Northern Border, including Old Ancestor Xue Sha's apparent rout at Vast Sky Commandery, to draw Feather Cauldron Dao Lord and the Immortal Sect Alliance deeper into the region. 323 327

While the allied army pursued the decoy forces, more than 100,000 Southern Spirit Immortal Sect cultivators traveled through an ancient underground passage and emerged outside Xianjing. Xue Sha and the High Priest led the advance force alongside Zhang Chen. 327 330 331

The sect then attacked Xianjing's city-protecting formation, with Xue Sha and the High Priest striking the defenses while Zhang Chen led the army's assault. 332
