While they were flying toward the African continent, Ye Chen held A Zhui tightly around the waist. He glanced at Angel Yan's amused expression beside him and couldn't help clenching his fists.
So what if he couldn't fly?
Still, he made up his mind to find a way to get a flying skill someday. He couldn't have his wife carry him every time they flew—that would be far too humiliating for an Emperor like him.
Thinking of this, Ye Chen opened the system panel.
Host: Ye Chen.
Lifespan: 258/10000.
Physique: First Generation Human King Body.
Equipment: Red Sky, Silver Moon.
Civilization: Yanhuang Empire.
Civilization Level: 0.6 Homeworld Civilization.
Civilization Points: 960,000.
After he advanced to the First Generation Human King Body, his lifespan had shot up from 1,500 years to 10,000. Only now could he truly call himself an Emperor with a lifespan of ten thousand years.
His next goal was to work toward a lifespan of hundreds of millions of years, and eventually, eternity.
"System, are there any cost-effective flying items in the shop? Recommend a few, or tell me what level I need to reach before I can fly."
After immersing his mind in the system, Ye Chen asked directly.
"Host, considering the laws of this universe and overall cost-effectiveness, Dark Energy and the Stellar Energy found throughout the universe are the most abundant resources in this world.
"So, you can purchase a Star Core from the system shop and refine it into your body. That will let you gain some of a planet's abilities, such as controlling part of its gravitational force and walking on air.
"Moreover, since a Star Core is formed when a planet shatters, it naturally possesses the ability to attract Stellar Energy and distort space.
"So, a Star Core can constantly absorb Stellar Energy and Dark Energy from the universe to supply you with power. It's like carrying an inexhaustible portable power bank, so you won't have to worry about running out of energy.
"You can also devour more Star Cores in the future to strengthen the one inside you. Once it reaches Stellar Level, you yourself will be like a giant humanoid celestial body.
"By then, shattering stars with a punch, distorting spacetime to open a wormhole, and making a spatial jump will all be easy..."
Listening to the system's cold, mechanical voice, Ye Chen felt that it was trying very hard to sell him something.
Fine, he admitted that the system had hooked him with its grand promises of shattering stars with a punch, opening wormholes at will, and traveling billions of light-years in an instant.
Thinking of this, Ye Chen couldn't help smiling. After all, he was a master swindler himself.
Now the system was just as big a swindler as he was. The two of them were bound together—clearly, birds of a feather flocked together.
Although he knew that reaching the humanoid celestial body level the system had described would be incredibly difficult, he was willing to give it a try.
Because that level was truly alluring.
Ye Chen then found the Star Core section in the system shop and saw that the price varied according to each one's size and level.
Star Cores were divided into four levels, from lowest to highest: Planetary Level, Stellar Level, Black Hole Level, and Qiankun Level.
Looking at the prices, Ye Chen's mouth twitched. Damn, they were expensive. The cheapest Planetary Level Star Core cost 100,000 Civilization Points.
But after considering that it was the core of a planet, Ye Chen felt the price was acceptable.
After all, if these things were too cheap, wouldn't that make Star Cores seem less impressive?
Looking over the Star Cores, Ye Chen finally chose one worth 300,000 Civilization Points. It came from a planet called Hailing Star, roughly 1.2 times the size of Blue Star.
Once he redeemed it, the Star Core appeared in his Portable Space. As soon as the fist-sized core appeared, it began pulling every item in the space toward it.
Then the Star Core's powerful gravity instantly crushed all the clothes and other odds and ends he'd stored in his Portable Space into nothingness.
In the end, only a few things remained unharmed in the entire Portable Space.
Seeing this, Ye Chen's mouth twitched. He hadn't expected the thing to be this powerful.
But when he remembered that he was about to refine it into his body, he thought, Well, this really is great.
He wasn't afraid of it being powerful; he was only afraid it would be useless. Otherwise, wouldn't his 300,000 Civilization Points have gone to waste?
"Sky scum Sumari?!"
Just then, Ye Chen suddenly heard A Zhui's voice and looked over.
Flying in the distance was none other than Sky scum Sumari, the very person they'd been going to deal with.
He hadn't expected to run into him halfway there. Judging by his direction, Sumari must have been drawn over by the commotion Ye Chen had just caused.
Thinking of this, Ye Chen's lips curled upward. They'd searched high and low, only to find him without any trouble. Now they wouldn't have to fly all the way over to him.
On the other side.
Sumari saw A Zhui flying toward him and was startled. But when he realized she was accompanied by only two young New Generation Angels, he immediately relaxed.
He then released his Dark Silver Flying Knives. The knives circled around him, flying nimbly as he moved his fingers.
Seeing that the man wasn't running away, Ye Chen realized why at once. Sumari had probably been on Blue Star so long that he was still stuck in the Ancient Era.
Or perhaps he simply looked down on the New Generation Angels. If the Old Angels were standing there instead, would Sumari still be so calm?
After all, every Old Angel who had survived the Ancient Era had fought their way through mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Every one of them was a born killer.
Beside him, Angel Yan saw Sumari and beat her wings, shooting straight toward him.
The moment they clashed, Sumari realized something was wrong. Angel Yan was just a tiny bit too strong.
If he hadn't had his Dark Silver Flying Knives, he wouldn't have lasted more than a few moves before losing.
In the distance, Ye Chen saw Angel Yan charge in. With the system's after-sales service, he immediately refined the Star Core into his body.
As the Star Core entered his body, he felt something change. The pull of the planet's gravity disappeared, and he let go of A Zhui. He then stood steadily in the air.
After refining the Star Core, he'd gained some of its abilities and naturally gained control over part of a planet's gravitational force.
At that moment, standing in the air felt just like standing on solid ground. He didn't feel the slightest discomfort.
Seeing the astonishment in A Zhui's eyes, Ye Chen smiled. "I'll tell you about it later."
As soon as he finished speaking, Ye Chen took something out of his Portable Space—an item he'd redeemed over thirty years ago specifically to deal with Sumari. [More details were mentioned in Chapter 16.]
Two special devices appeared in his hands. He activated one, pressing its purple switch, and an invisible wave of energy instantly spread outward, enveloping the space within a radius of several thousand meters.
This was a Space Blocker, meant to stop Sumari from escaping. This time, Ye Chen would make sure Sumari had no way out, whether by air or underground.
Although A Zhui and Angel Yan made the chances of Sumari escaping extremely slim, Ye Chen would rather spend some extra Civilization Points than risk anything going wrong.
