Background / History
The Yanhuang Empire began as Ye Chen's personal foundation on the North American continent. Its original territory covered roughly one percent of North America and held fewer than one million people; after two centuries of expansion and population growth, it controlled two-thirds of the continent. Its early borders included large uninhabited regions, which were gradually settled after industrial transport networks removed the barrier of distance. 7 11
Ye Chen deliberately restrained early development in favor of stable foundations. He prioritized population growth, food and shelter, education, training officials, and the gradual replacement of older local social elements. The nationwide education system was completed in Yanhuang Calendar Year 124, and its first graduates became the core of the Imperial Academy of Sciences and the empire's industrial workforce. 5 7
By Year 144, the empire had a population of twenty-three million, a complete education system, and sufficient trained personnel to begin the First Industrial Revolution. The first railway, the Xuanhuang Hao, connected the capital with Qinglong City and opened commercial channels across the empire, initiating rapid economic growth and infrastructure construction. 7 9
Thirty years after formally preparing for world war, Ye Chen directed the Army, Navy, and Air Force to begin global expansion. The San Andres Empire and Inca Empire fell within a year; Africa was subsequently conquered and integrated after the defeat of the Congo-led alliance. 15 23 25 28
The empire then occupied Europe, received submission from several major states, absorbed Huaxia through the abdication of New Ming Emperor Zhu Cilang, and destroyed the Qing Empire with the aid of subjugated powers. The conclusion of these campaigns left Blue Star fully unified under Yanhuang rule. 40 41 42 43
Government and Society
- Absolute imperial rule — Ye Chen's long life, direct control over state institutions, and ideological influence over successive generations made Yanhuang effectively a one-man state. Citizens widely regard him as the empire's “one true god.” 5 9
- Imperial Guard — A secret-police and intelligence organization reporting directly to the emperor. It monitors officials, gathers intelligence nationwide, and may “execute first and report later.” 4
- Imperial Court — Civil and military officials conduct court in Star Hall. Ye Chen abolished mandatory kneeling and permitted officials to sit, with assembly hours adjusted by season. 5 6
- Nobility system — Military merit can raise a person's noble rank. The empire maintains 108 ranks—72 Earth Ranks and 36 Heaven Ranks—with titles inheritable for three generations. 24
- Conquered-race advancement — Ye Chen established a future path for conquered races and species to earn status through military merit and contributions; attaining the highest rank can grant Yanhuang citizenship. 27
- Unified law and standards — After world unification, revised laws, regulations, and standards of measurement were issued globally. 44
Military and Security
Imperial Armed Forces
The empire maintains three imperial services: the Army, Imperial Navy, and Imperial Air Force. They were established for the planned world war and for defending Yanhuang airspace and territorial waters. 14 15
- The military is trained under strict discipline and clear chains of command. 10
- The Kunpeng Force and Kunpeng Squadron provide aerial defense and expeditionary air power. 14 18 23
- Fighter jets delivered the bombing campaign that destroyed the San Andres capital and enabled rapid conquest against technologically inferior states. 24 25
- The empire used subjugated states as main assault forces during later campaigns, preserving Yanhuang troop strength. 42 43
Daylight Project
The Daylight Project is a completed nuclear weapon program marking the empire's entry into the Nuclear Energy Era. Ye Chen considers it the minimum strategic deterrent required before Yanhuang enters interstellar space. 48
- Developed alongside long-term atomic-energy research. 18 48
- Intended for security against threats beyond Blue Star rather than existing planetary rivals. 48
Science and Infrastructure
- Imperial Academy of Sciences — Founded alongside the nationwide education system; its researchers developed the railway, train, automobile, airplane, computers, atomic research, and later nuclear technology. 4 7 9 18 48
- Yanhuang Civilization System — The empire is bound to a civilization system that exchanges technological data and products for Civilization Points. Points increase as Yanhuang Civilization develops. 5
- Rail network — The Xuanhuang Hao, the empire's first train, connected Xuanhuang City and Qinglong City and accelerated national commerce. 9
- Electrical technology — Electrical knowledge was introduced through the education system and rapidly integrated into public institutions and society. 9
- Aviation and spaceflight — The Kunpeng Project produced aircraft technology, while Tenglong-1 became the first manned spaceflight, carrying Zhao Yunlei into space. 9 48
- Advanced acquired research — Technical materials obtained from the Denuo Civilization included controllable nuclear fusion, Dark Dimension communication, and spacecraft manufacturing technology. Ye Chen expects their full absorption to enable a Level 1 Interstellar Civilization. 40
Culture and Religion
The empire's culture was heavily shaped by Ye Chen's Daoist upbringing. Daoist principles influenced its institutions, and the Heavenly Marriage Rite was established as the highest form of legal marriage, protected from desecration by imperial law. 13
During the Grand Unification Ceremony in Chang'an, Ye Chen used system-purchased omens—including eastern purple qi, heavenly golden light, and an apparition of the Human Emperor—to legitimize Yanhuang rule among newly absorbed populations. 45
Human King Seal and National Fortune
Following Ye Chen's ritual honoring the Yanhuang ancestors, Emperor Xuanyuan granted him the Human Emperor Trait, Heart of the People. Every subject's acknowledgment of Ye Chen strengthens his ability to borrow their power within imperial borders. 46
- Heart of the People — Allows Ye Chen to draw on a portion of the power of billions of subjects within Yanhuang territory. Greater public recognition provides greater power; lack of recognition causes backlash. 46
- Human King Seal Spirit — The Human King Seal became a vessel for Yanhuang's national fortune and formed bonds with appointed officials. 47
- Official blessings — Officials recognized by the seal receive national-fortune protection based on rank and may petition the seal to mobilize some of the people's power within their jurisdiction. 47
- Territorial limitation — The seal's usable power is substantially reduced outside Yanhuang borders. 47
Relationships
- Ye Chen — Founder, emperor, and central authority of the empire; he treats its survival and growth as his highest priority. 5 19 45
- Imperial Guard — Directly controlled intelligence and enforcement body founded by Ye Chen; originally led by Long Yu. 4
- Imperial Academy of Sciences — State scientific institution responsible for the empire's industrial, military, nuclear, and spaceflight advances. 4 7 48
- Angel Civilization — Its Righteous Order initially protects Yanhuang as a weak civilization, though A Zhui fears the empire may later become a power the Order must restrain. 19
- Denuo Civilization — Monitored and later interfered with Yanhuang's expansion; the empire acquired non-weapon technical materials from it. 27 34 40
- Subjugated empires — Former powers such as the Russian Dynasty and Zunghar Khanate submitted to Yanhuang and were compelled to provide troops during the final wars of unification. 41 42 43
