Bang! Bang!
The two gunshots nearly drowned out the warning shots from the others.
He Weilan and the two male officers stared at Qilin in shock.
Wait! Sis, you just shot the suspect?!
The thugs around them were already so terrified their legs had gone weak.
S-She really fired!
Liu Chuang felt a sudden pain in his right leg and couldn't help cursing inwardly:
Damn it! Wasn't the procedure to fire two warning shots first?!
But then he froze.
This so-called God of War really had some tricks.
It hurt... but the bullets didn't seem to have gone in?
He looked down. The bullets were lodged in the surface of his skin, leaving only two shallow dents. There wasn't even any blood.
The sharp pain only stoked his ferocity.
Liu Chuang jerked his head up, glaring at Su Bai, his murderous intent practically tangible.
You little brat...
You're dead!
!!!
The bullets—hadn't gone through Liu Chuang's leg?!
They'd only left two shallow dents in his skin?!
The thugs nearby, along with He Weilan and the two male officers, felt as if their entire worldview had shattered.
Only Qilin gritted her teeth and thought, Just as I expected...
After all, Su Bai had mentioned it in his Diary.
Liu Chuang was a Super Soldier, too. In the future, he'd even become the "protagonist's" right-hand man.
Bullets really were useless against him.
"Liu Chuang! Stop!"
He Weilan didn't know why the bullets hadn't pierced Liu Chuang's leg, but judging by the speed he'd just displayed, his physical strength was clearly extraordinary.
If that punch landed, he could very well kill someone.
But Liu Chuang had clearly made up his mind. He had no intention of stopping.
His fist whistled through the air, heading straight for Su Bai's head.
Liu Chuang himself had no idea how strong he was now, but if even bullets couldn't pierce his skin—
It was easy to imagine what would happen if that punch landed.
He Weilan's eyes widened as she cursed inwardly.
Damn it!
She raised her gun in an instant.
If the other guy could withstand bullets, then there was no need to hold back.
She had to stop him.
She took aim at Liu Chuang's arm, but couldn't bring herself to pull the trigger.
At this angle... the bullet might hit Su Bai by mistake.
Qilin suddenly turned to her and shook her head.
There was no panic in her eyes, only a calm certainty.
He Weilan hesitated, then chose to trust Qilin's judgment and slowly lowered her gun.
Just then—
"Die!!"
A vicious smile spread across Liu Chuang's face.
It was the triumphant delight of someone about to get his revenge.
He poured all his fury and murderous intent into that punch.
His fist shot through the air with a piercing whistle, as if it were about to tear the air apart.
However—
Liu Chuang's expression quickly stiffened.
Su Bai, who was about to take the full force of his punch, and Angel Yan and Azhui, standing nearby—all three looked far too calm.
So calm... it was as if he were a clown putting on a show onstage, and nobody cared.
Then—
Fist met palm with a dull thud.
Just like before.
Liu Chuang's punch was caught firmly in Su Bai's palm once again.
"H-How...?!"
Liu Chuang's eyes widened. He'd barely gotten one word out—
Su Bai's fist was already there.
The punch landed squarely on his left cheek. The tremendous force made his head ring.
His Super Gene had activated, and Su Bai still had hold of his hand, so this time Liu Chuang wasn't sent flying.
But the blow left him reeling, his mind blank for a moment.
He instinctively tried to yank his hand back, only to realize the difference in strength was too great. He couldn't break free.
Liu Chuang gritted his teeth and swept his right leg toward Su Bai's lower body, hoping to use the opening to escape his grip.
Su Bai glanced aside, immediately seeing what he was up to.
He leaned well out of the way, easily dodging the kick, while his right hand remained locked around Liu Chuang's wrist.
The momentum carried Liu Chuang forward in a stumble, and he lost his footing.
At that moment, Su Bai suddenly let go. Spinning around, he drove a powerful back kick into Liu Chuang's chest!
Liu Chuang went flying backward and slammed onto the ground two meters away.
He Weilan's eyes widened.
How could Qilin's skinny-looking boyfriend be so strong?!
The two male officers beside her were already dumbfounded.
The guy bullets couldn't pierce had just been sent flying with a counterattack??
Inside Super Seminary, Lian Feng stared at the surveillance footage, her brow furrowing tighter and tighter.
"Something's not right... According to Deno Three's scan data, Su Bai should just be an ordinary person..."
"How could he beat Liu Chuang, who's already awakened?"
If Deno Three had a mind of its own, it would probably have silently grumbled: Could it be that when I said 'none,' I meant I couldn't analyze him, not that there were no anomalies?
Lian Feng quickly came back to herself.
That wasn't the most important thing right now.
If they kept fighting like this, Liu Chuang might actually get beaten to death.
She immediately connected to Dukao:
"General, get over here! Something's happened with Liu Chuang!"
Dukao's voice came through the communicator, sounding a little surprised.
"Lian Feng, didn't you already report this earlier? Hadn't we already decided how to handle it?"
"That was the plan," Lian Feng said quickly. "But the situation has changed. Liu Chuang resisted arrest and activated his Super Gene. He's about to kill Su Bai!"
Dukao's brow creased slightly.
Activated?
Looks like the near-death experience triggered his gene's protective mechanism...
That's good. This will be the perfect chance for Qiangwei and A Jie to bring him to the academy for training.
As for resisting arrest, or even possibly killing someone—
Dukao considered those minor issues.
Liu Chuang would become the Nuo Star God of War, a crucial fighter for Earth and even the Known Universe.
For the sake of that goal, the occasional "sacrifice" or "transgression" was entirely understandable and acceptable.
He believed that even the people in Huaxia would eventually understand.
"It's fine, Lian Feng," Dukao said, sounding completely unconcerned. "I'll talk to the people in Huaxia later.
"Let Liu Chuang spend a couple of days in prison, reflecting on his actions under the charge of murder. It might do him good to learn some restraint."
Lian Feng froze, the corner of her mouth twitching despite herself.
"General... Liu Chuang didn't kill anyone."
Dukao sounded surprised. "He didn't?"
Was this Nuo Star God of War so "mild-mannered"? Liu Chuang didn't seem like the sort who'd hold back.
"Isn't it even easier to deal with if nobody died?" He quickly recovered, his tone light. "He only crippled someone. That makes things simpler."
It hadn't even occurred to him that anything else might have happened. He simply assumed Liu Chuang had shown an unusual burst of "kindness."
Hearing the certainty in Dukao's voice, Lian Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"General... is it possible that—"
"When I said 'something's happened,' I meant something happened to Liu Chuang himself?"
Dukao's brow immediately furrowed.
"Impossible. Absolutely impossible."
"Liu Chuang has already activated his Super Gene. What could happen to him? Did the police ignore the warning and open fire?"
"Even if they did, ordinary bullets couldn't hurt someone with the physique of the Nuo Star God of War."
"Lian Feng, explain clearly—what exactly happened?"
