"Before I knew it, I'm already seven years old."

Standing on the littered street, Sosuke's gaze carried a hint of reflection.

No matter where you went, there were always poor people living at the bottom. The sky had barely begun to lighten when a group of cleaners carrying brooms stepped onto the street.

Not every member of the Uchiha was a warrior. Many clansmen were naturally unsuited for killing and could only handle the trivial matters of daily life.

Of course, no matter how you looked at it, they were still members of the Uchiha clan, so they certainly couldn't be made to pick up brooms and do cleaning.

Matters like clothing, food, housing, and transportation were all handled by ordinary people from outside the clan.

Though it might seem that the Uchiha's reputation wasn't great on the ninja world stage, that didn't matter at all in the eyes of commoners.

Coming to work within the Uchiha's sphere of influence meant you could bring your family along. The wages were high, the living benefits were good, and most importantly, the safety factor here was extremely high.

If an enemy could fight their way into the Uchiha heartland, the war would have already spread across the entire Land of Fire. No matter where you hid, you wouldn't escape it anyway.

At the root of it, the thinking of ordinary people and ninjas was completely different.

Patting his head, still a bit hungover, Sosuke sat alone on the steps at his doorstep.

He looked like he was spacing out, but in reality, he was browsing his system data.

[Name: Uchiha Sosuke]

[Age: Seven]

[Physical Strength: Genin]

[Mental Strength: Chunin]

[Chakra Capacity: Genin]

[Special Ability: Sharingan (One-Tomoe)]

[Ninja Tool: Short Sword]

[Summoning Beast: None]

[Points: 343]

After a year of effort, he had finally attained a physique comparable to a genin.

His already formidable mental strength had shot straight up to the chunin level. This would make it even easier to mess with that kid Izuna.

Nothing else had changed much, and he had no idea when he would evolve to the Two-Tomoe Sharingan.

Just as he was about to close the system menu, Sosuke inexplicably clicked open the shop interface.

[Thousand Years of Death, Item Grade E, Exchange requires 20 points.]

[Great Fire Annihilation, Item Grade D, Exchange requires 360 points.]

[Demonic Flute: Demonic Sound Chains, Item Grade C, Exchange requires 3100 points.]

[Lightning Armor (Beginner), Item Grade B, Exchange requires 7800 points.]

[Flying Thunder God Technique (Stage One), Item Grade A, Exchange requires 8500 points.]

[Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, Item Grade A, Exchange requires 9000 points.]

The results that came up were the options he was most interested in.

Besides exchanging for ninjutsu, he could also use points to upgrade his Sharingan level, exchange for various kinds of knowledge, tools, and so on.

After studying it carefully, Sosuke realized that the prices of items in the system weren't quite the same as the markings from later eras.

Illusion-type techniques were generally more expensive, the five basic elemental ninjutsu were relatively cheap, and the prices for tools were absurdly high.

A single item made with chakra-conductive metal cost no less than three thousand points. The three hundred points in his pocket were nowhere near enough.

Ordinary kunai and short swords could also conduct chakra; the difference lay in the quality of their conductivity.

With a special weapon, three-tenths of your strength could produce a twelve-tenths effect. With ordinary blades, it was basically the opposite.

Given Sosuke's current net worth, he probably wouldn't be able to get his hands on conductive weapons anytime soon.

There wasn't much he could buy with three hundred points. The vast majority of items were just useless junk.

Only one thing had a relatively low price in the system.

[Cell Biology (Beginner), Item Grade D, Exchange requires 800 points.]

[Cell Transplantation (Beginner), Item Grade C, Exchange requires 1500 points.]

[Gene Modification (Beginner), Item Grade B, Exchange requires 3600 points.]

Compared to items of the same grade, knowledge-based research was practically dirt cheap.

If circumstances allowed, Sosuke would want to become a science expert. Those biological techniques sounded incredibly advanced just from their names.

"Even if I don't learn them myself, I can find a trustworthy assistant in the future and let them conduct the scientific experiments."

Thinking about his future development path, Sosuke brought the most important question back to the table.

How was he supposed to continuously earn points? He couldn't just keep sneaking out every time, could he?

If he learned Shadow Clone and Flying Thunder God, maybe he could pull off a switcheroo. The problem was, he didn't know either of those techniques right now.

As for becoming a mission-oriented ninja, that was even more of a pipe dream—no one would hire a seven-year-old brat.

"Ah." Letting out a slight sigh, Sosuke ran over to a roadside stall and grabbed some breakfast.

By the time he returned home with takeout, the hungover brothers had already crawled out of bed.

Seeing Izuna's dazed expression, Sosuke asked with a smile, "So, how was your first taste of alcohol?"

"Heh, it felt amazing." Izuna was clearly being stubborn, considering he'd been the first to pass out the night before.

Sosuke chuckled without calling him out, setting the food in front of them as he casually inquired, "When will we finally step onto the battlefield?"

"No idea." Uchiha Madara sounded equally frustrated. He wanted to train on the battlefield, but his father had locked him up at home.

In Uchiha Tajima's words, his son's age was the golden period for a ninja to boost their strength.

Rather than blindly slaughtering on the battlefield, it was better to spend the time honing one's foundation.

The logic was sound, but the Clan Head probably didn't realize that his eldest son was already a Captain-level powerhouse.

Training purely at home could no longer improve his strength.

Life-and-death combat was the only way to push the Dancing King's power further.

"Maybe we should find a chance to prove ourselves." Eager to get out, Sosuke proposed a rather unreliable idea: "How about we challenge the clan's strong members ourselves to show our strength?"

"Mm, great plan." Izuna nodded, then shot him a look like he was an idiot. "And then you'll find there's no place left for you in the Uchiha."

"...I was just saying." Sosuke knew full well that this approach wouldn't solve the root problem.

Like Izuna said, he had no idea if he'd even succeed in getting out, but if he actually did that, he'd definitely end up on a lot of clansmen's blacklists.

"This won't work, that won't work—damn, is it really this hard to go out and serve the clan?"

Frustrated, Uchiha Sosuke got up and left the house, planning to collect the new quarter's pension.

In the past, most of the pension had been embezzled by his uncle. That man owed him a lot, and sooner or later, Sosuke would take it all back with interest.

However, Sosuke never expected that, on this very day when his reputation was gradually rising, Uchiha Takeshi would once again show up at the pension distribution office.

Staring at the money pouch in his uncle's hand, Sosuke's gaze turned utterly dark.
