History

During the Warring States Period, the Uchiha were one of the Land of Fire's dominant military clans. Their long-running war with the Senju did not prevent them from pressuring neighboring clans as well, often leaving opponents with submission or destruction as their only options. 4

Uchiha Tajima led the clan during Sosuke's early years. Though he publicly nurtured talented youths such as Sosuke, Tajima regarded Sosuke's rapid growth as a future threat to Madara's succession and planned to exploit him against the Senju before discarding him. 2 84

The clan's western forces became a major power under Uchiha Sosuke. After the Fūma-led Eight-Party Alliance spread accusations against the Uchiha and restricted their operations, Sosuke led a small Lightning Release squad in a three-day campaign that devastated alliance strongholds and forced most members to withdraw. 38

Tajima's death created a succession crisis among Madara, Sosuke, and Tetsuya. Madara answered the challenge directly, defeated every contender, and became Clan Head with Sosuke's support. 136

The Uchiha and Senju eventually ended their conflict and jointly established Konohagakure, inviting other war-weary clans to join the new village. 181 Sosuke later became Konoha's Hokage, while the Uchiha retained exceptional influence over the village's military and political direction. 198
