Overview

Soul Skills are abilities used in combat by Soul Masters. They can provide offense, defense, control, movement, transformation, or physical enhancement, and are commonly tied to a user's Martial Soul and Soul Rings.

• Soul Skills may be used at range, allowing combatants to pressure physically stronger opponents without engaging in close quarters. Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo use long-range Soul Skills to drive Shi Hao away from Ah Rou's battlefield 15.
• Even thousand-year Soul Skills can damage opponents with exceptional physical defenses, as Shi Hao suffers superficial wounds from the two Titled Douluo's attacks 15.
• Soul Duels frequently involve life-and-death combat, making the strength and application of Soul Skills decisive 226.

Martial Soul Fusion Skill

A Martial Soul Fusion Skill is a cooperative Soul Skill performed by more than one Soul Master.

• Two-Yin Stillness Domain is used by Chrysanthemum Douluo Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo Gui Mei.
• The Domain freezes Shi Hao and others within its range, though Shi Hao breaks it with the Azure Scaled Eagle Precious Technique, injuring both users 16.

Martial Soul Avatar-Type Skill

Some Soul Skills act as a form of Martial Soul possession or transformation.

• Bai Luo's Taotie Transformation is also a Martial Soul Avatar, allowing him to take on the Taotie Martial Soul's power 56.
• Unlike ordinary Soul Skills, it has no time limit and instead continuously consumes Soul Power 56.
• While transformed, Bai Luo's body becomes stronger, and his martial arts gain severalfold greater power 56.

Self-Created Soul Skills

Self-Created Soul Skills are techniques independently developed and inherited outside the normal Soul Ring system.

• They are valuable enough to support major Soul Master families and sects 69.
• The Clear Sky School possesses the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique and Great Sumeru Hammer—Ring Detonation, helping it surpass the Seven Kill Sword Family 69.
• Sword Douluo Chen Xin's Seven Kill Sword Family inherits the Seven Kill Sword Technique 69.
• Dugu Qiubai's Intent Sword Body Great Art and Lingbo Microstep are identified as Self-Created Soul Skills 69.
• Many sword Martial Soul users depend entirely on their Soul Skills rather than sword techniques, making inherited sword arts unusual on the Douluo Continent 238.

• Soul Skills consume Soul Power; Taotie Transformation remains active only so long as Bai Luo can sustain its consumption 56.
• A Soul Skill's effectiveness depends on its cultivation level and compatibility with the user's Martial Soul. Spirit Sword Guard is limited by being only a hundred-year defensive skill on an otherwise offense-oriented Seven Kill Sword Martial Soul 106.
• Powerful opponents can evade, endure, or break Soul Skills through superior physical ability, technique, or other special abilities 15 16.
